Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Philadelphia

First time here- we usually go to Smoothie King but we were in the area so we gave it a try. Will not be going back. We went in, there were no orders showing on the screens and no customers in the store. We ordered 2 Acai bowls, paid and sat down to wait. A guy came in right after we ordered and ordered a protein type shake with special instructions. The person that took both of our orders, proceeded to make his first, even tho he ordered and paid after us. He looked as tho he may have come from the gym that they share a parking lot with, maybe they get special treatment??? Anyway, the Acai bowls were small, like 4" diameter and maybe 3" tall and they charge $10, other places have more than one size, they list the oz. on the menu AND they are not $10. Also, we got peanut butter on top and they charged us an additional $1.25 each for peanut butter! So, in all, it costs us over $26 for two shockingly small bowls. We did leave a 10% tip before we realized we would be pushed to the back of the line, the extra charge for peanut butter and the small size. Needless to say, we will not go back. Also, I've seen the copy and paste response that the owner puts up after every bad review. If you responded by actually addressing the problem instead of saying 'click our link' it would seem a little more genuine.

FOLLOW UP: As I predicted, they replied with their generic response, not addressing the issue. Their response says "Please let us what we can get better so your next experience exceeds your expectations..." if they actually read my review, they would know what they can do better and they would know that I'm not coming back. Now, had they offered to replace the item with a more appropriately sized bowl and apologized for pushing us to the back of the line, that might have got us to go back again. But to just say "We hate that we let you down"...

Great smoothies, great food, and great customer service makes me coming back to Tropical Smoothie Cafe for more. I remembered the first time I stopped by this place and asked what was their most popular smoothie was. I was recommended the Sunrise Sunset and after my first sip, I was immediately hooked. These guys really know how to make a banging smoothie. After that positive experience, I decided to come back to try the other smoothies as well as the food here. I was so impressed, I referred my friends and family to stop by if they ever wanted to grab a smoothie or a quick bite. I can't say enough great things about this place because the employees here really care about giving you a pleasant experience. Highly recommended and will be coming...

Came here for the 1st time a few days ago. While the staff was nice, they need to get better organization with tending to face to face customers. I waited literally like a half hour for my flatbread sandwich despite standing right there ordering and being the only one in the store. They seemed to prioritize online orders, first. I had to ask when will my sandwich be made, then finally it was made. Wasn’t a great impression. The food was good though. I got the sunrise smoothie and avocado and chicken flatbread. Again, they gotta get better with prioritizing face to face customers. Also, why does it say they’re closed Fri-Sun? That can’t be...
