I was taught to never judge a book by its cover! So I won’t speak on the presentation of this restaurant. So Let me start by saying I was starving Walking into this place but I had a gut feeling about my regrets. We prayed every time we took a single bite, paused and looked at each other with the same reaction. Horrible! I will be very honest with you all but if you choose to eat here after this review just remember me saying I told you so. I’m a 1st Time customer, I’m really not hating y’all I’m so serious!! This is the worst food I ever had in my life! I’m usually the positive person, I always find good in everything but this right here had me ready to cry. I spent $70 on 3 platters. Tilapia, rice, yams, bbq chicken, Mac n cheese, yams and more Tilapia with Crab cakes that had this nasty clumpy white sauce all around it, some Broccoli and spinach. No lie! Every single thing was HORRIBLE! All but the bottle Lemonades and Corn bread. The Mac n cheese was over cooked, the noodles were to soft with way to much salt and for some reason it was watery. A big disappointment because I crave bake Mac n cheese the most! 😢 The brown rice was not done! How do you screw up Rice! Smh. It was hard as rocks. The yams were from the can! They were not sweet with salt and pepper on top. The veggies was dry and TASTELESS, the broccoli could break teeth! I don’t believe the fish was done, it was pale and cold. That lumpy white sauce was horrible and it was all over the platter so I didn’t even taste the crab meat in the middle. The BBQ chicken was old or something. It was dried and burnt. It was barely any sauce on it to hide the fact. Note to Management; Hire older adults, those young adults were nice but they have no idea how to run this business. One girl was all over the food talking loudly with spit flying everywhere. The dude in the back was making platters with no gloves! Thankfully our food was ready after I noticed this. Again I was starving at this point. I had no time to make a fuss about anything! Besides that they were nice to us they just didn’t have the right guidance or professionalism. Please retrain them and be more present! I hate to see black owned businesses turn out this way! My husband or I are very disappointed and sadly will not return until I hear better updates. I really hope things Turn out better for this business.

Good luck to owners. If you order today, they will be ready next day so be ready to wait 24hours for preparation. Even if everything is made from scratch, this still doesn't make no sense to wait 53minutes to an hour in the restaurant. No communication on staffs' end. Keep adding 5mins and nothing showed up. Also beware of their old menu. Because my chicken cost me 5 and our salmon platter 9 more bucks. Check the prices twice or make sure you asked someone who has an idea. I hope that nobody else feel robbed by their time and money just to support a local restaurant and try their food. Better ask that how long your food is going to take too because add another 30 min to that. Somebody please tell me what type of chicken has this size of legs (Cornish hen), and does this worth $20 without tip or tax. Shame on me i still tipped them. We are both disappointed and upset. I could have gone to Boston Market for meal for 3 and change to spare. My wife's yams and rice were sour on the other hand salmon was done to perfection.

So I ordered an order of whiting fish, asparagus, a warm piece of cornbread, and then it says a piece of cornbread is supposed to come with it. I paid the extra dollar and some change for a piece of cornbread.. and all I got was two pieces of fish so I called up there and I asked the lady was cornbread supposed to come with it and what happened to the asparagus. She says to me no you ordered a piece of fish. Now they printed the receipt out let’s take a look, And then she admits that they forgot to put the cornbread in there and she apologized. That’s all she can give me even though I gave her my money. take a look at the receipt and what does it say, She kept on saying what you ordered was a full meal, But you only paid Eight dollars. I paid 16.95

Not worth money, time, or hassle. I ordered 2 platters with an extra side and the total came to $39.41. I ordered a salmon platter with macaroni, spinach and a small side of mashed potatoes and a bbq chicken platter with macaroni and collard greens.

Platter #1 My salmon was not cooked all the way, it was slimey and soft, and the butter scampi sauce was more like jello, runny and chunky and it looked like snot. I was hungry so I scraped off the chunky “sauce” , re-seasoned the salmon AND put it in the oven for about 10min. I cant believe they gave a platter and my salmon was basically still swimming.

My mashed potatoes were so dry and bland, i added butter and seasoned them too but they still tasted like cardboard, I couldn’t even eat it.

My macaroni was good BUT that chunky scampi snotty looking stuff was in the pocket holding the mac so i couldn’t eat the whole thing cuz it was contaminated basically from the uncooked fish and nasty sauce.

My spinach was sooooooo SALTY! But i was at a point in that platter that i was just grateful it had seasoning on it smh. It was the best thing in the platter and i probably got high blood pressure now.

Platter #2 The bbq chicken was so dark. We thought it was the sauce . WRONG! The chicken was so overcooked , dry, and burnt that sticking a fork in it made it almost crumble into a million pieces. It was so overcooked that the meat was hard. It was not edible at all! Like you wouldn’t even feed this to a dog. Horrible. Its ashame that chicken had to die just to be served up in a platter full of disappointment, #chickenslivesmatter

The macaroni and the collard greens were OK, thats it tho, no bragging needs to take place.

I would not recommend this place to anyone and especially for the price! Way too expensive, portions are on the smaller side compared to other places in the area, and the food is not consistently made correctly (i had the same platters from them twice before, each time got worse). I am officially not a customer and will continue to share my opinion and story because no one should have to spend $40 on food and cant eat it because its not edible or have to recook it because its not fully cooked. Slimey salmon. I am...

I went in with my sister she ordered for pickup via DoorDash or whatever. We arrived 25 mins after placing it. The one woman she dealt with us asked her what the order was under etc she asked twice then she walked away and we waited 5 minutes and she came back and said they were working on it. We waited so long afterwards all these other people came in and waited too or people before us waited long too. The one lady in the headwrap was kept busy on the phone handling stuff. We waited over 40 mins just for one of the cooks with dreads or locs to ask us what we was waiting on. We told him the name and the headwrap lady apparently said told him something. Whole damn time they was out of Mac and cheese they didn’t choose to tell us as we was standing right there in front of them didn’t make any attempts to call saying they were out. They been knew and we don’t understand 1.Y the other woman told us they was working on it when whole time they wasn’t 2.Y she didn’t tell us instead of wasting our time. 3.Y they don’t make things not available to order if they were out of so much. We said we just wanted a refund for everything then. Cuz it’s ridiculous yall had us waiting in front of yall and wasted so much time for nothing. They definitely need to work on something cuz our friends recommended this place and I would never recommend it to anybody. Also they weren’t very clean because my shoes were literally sinking and sticking to those black rugs it was disgusting. They want sticky before I got there either so. The lady in the head wrap and the dread head cook were at least nice about it but that one lady with the short hair in a natural ponytail...
