On July 13, 2023 around 4:30PM while visiting this Wawa to grab something to eat, as a citizen, I was informed by both a male store manager and a female Allied Security officer, that I was not allowed to utilize the electrical outlet located in the lobby area. I left my phone there to charge for the duration of my shopping experience. Shortly after, the store manager approached me demanding that I leave the property or he was going to call local law enforcement. I questioned his demands and stated that I would rather wait for Philadelphia PD to arrive. Two male officers, P/O Pizzo and his unidentified partner arrived on the scene 1st and spoke with the store manager/employees, then came outside to speak with me while using excessive force to put me in handcuffs. I specifically requested that I do not be touched until a female officer arrived; however, by that time it was too late and my right wrist had already been injured by the 2 male officers, which I received medical treatment for the next day at Jefferson Hospital (see attached images.) A few minutes later an unknown female officer arrived at the scene, asked me what happened and offered to escort me and my belongings back to Headquarters, in which I was in full compliance with. After being processed, the 2 male officers issued me a Code Violation for alleged disorderly conduct in refusal(s) to pedestrian stop (see attached image.) Still til this day, I question what exactly was I being stopped for, especially after the Hispanic/other, female, Allied Security officer stated if I needed assistance with paying for food/drinks, just ask and she would cover the cost. In a situation like this, how does the public and private sectors come together to help better the less fortunate? On top of that, what is the city doing, as a team, about the constant police brutally that we, the people,...
Read moreWawa is a huge producer of trash. Especially on the side of Wawa by the trash receptacls. One day, in broad daylight in the middle of the day, there was a man peeing against Wawa's wall when I parked there. It was disgusting. I told the manager that came out after I "SHAME-d" the filthy animal. And yes I call him an animal, because humans are supposed to know better. Only animals pee anywhere in public. The manager said to me, "He told me he was going to do that. That's why I came out!" I said well you were a little slow to follow him, because he was already peeing when I walked to my vehicle. I was informed by the manager that He had asked the manager if he could use the restroom. He denied the customer usage of the bathroom. So I was subjected to that lovely sight. Wawa doesn't have a public restroom. I do understand why!
I used to go to a Dunkin Donuts store and you never knew if you were going to walk in the bathroom and find someone overdosing. So I understand why they don't offer public restrooms. It's a matter of liability. The parking lot can be very dangerous especially at night and early morning.
One of my best friends was headed to work at 5:00 a.m. and was carjacked right in front of the Wawa store at gunpoint. He didn't seem to care or notice that my friend was missing a foot. He let him take the vehicle. I wish they would control the panhandlers from guilting the paying customers into giving them money to buy drugs and alcohol. What's the purpose of the no soliciting signs if they don't...
Read moreThe worst Wawa ever. My first and last time going here. This Wawa has a different setup than any order Wawa I've been in. Very small and very confusing layout. I couldn't find anything I was looking for. There are no trash cans inside the store????? Like how is this even possible! I usually grab a hotdog which happens to b my favorite. They had hotdogs in the warmer with no date and time they smelled so bad and they looked horrible! Went to order the dog from the deli took them more than 20 minutes to get this hotdog ready, the condiment area didn't have counter for me to put my food down. The pakage mustered didn't open I tried few no won't open had to go ask for mustered took for ever to get the mustered. No trash can to put the empty mustered and ketchup packets! This Wawa should close there doors. Filthy inside and outside, old and out of dated. I won't recommend going here at all waste of time and money. I only gave one star because of the girls in the...
