I had one of the worst and most dehumanizing experiences I’ve ever had as a customer at this Wawa location. I came in simply to buy things, but instead of being treated with respect, I was yelled at by an employee for not knowing where to wait for my drink. I was confused about the designated waiting area, and instead of kindly helping me, the employee raised their voice at me and even laughed at my confusion.
The stress and humiliation caused me to faint inside the store. I collapsed on the floor and remained there for around four minutes. What happened next was even more shocking—no one came to help me. Not a single employee checked on my condition, offered assistance, or even showed basic human concern. Instead, I was further ridiculed and critiqued for being on the floor, while my health and safety were ignored.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable on every level. A customer fainted in the middle of the store, and the staff not only failed to provide help but also mocked me during a vulnerable moment. Wawa claims to care about its customers and community, yet at this location I was treated with cruelty, neglect, and complete disregard for my well-being.
This store needs urgent attention from corporate management. Employees should be trained to treat customers with decency, respect, and compassion—especially when a medical emergency occurs. Instead, I was humiliated, laughed at, and left on the ground without help.
I will never forget the way I was treated at Wawa 38th & Spruce, and I strongly warn others about the lack of care, professionalism, and humanity shown by the staff at this location. No one should ever have to fear being mocked, ignored, or left helpless on the floor while shopping at Wawa. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE...
Read moreStaff has bad attitude, items located haphazardly, randomly throughout the store and not logically conveniently placed compared to my local suburban store (I.E. Iced coffee machine near hot coffee, so as to be able to add creamers or milk or stirring straws to mix. The hot beverage machine near the coffee station for same purpose). Just not well laid out. Prices very high. Not equal to suburban stores. Given the Philadelphia high sales tax (8%)and current new beverage tax, I feel it's extremely unfair and disproportionately discriminatory to the poor of the residents of the city of Philadelphia. I happen to be fortunate to live in Delaware County where the sales tax is 6% and there is no beverage tax. But when I go into the city, I am very loathe and conscious of my money to go to Wawa. Also, strangely when I get a sandwich with bacon, there's an upcharge and additional tax on top of that upcharge as that is considered "hot" and EBT doesn't cover that. I fully understand that hot foods and toasted sandwiches and even getting a cold hoagie and selecting "toasted", EBT won't be accepted. But never was upcharged for the bacon on a cold hoagie since you're "cooking the bacon" on an otherwise sandwich that is all cold items. Suburban stores don't do this leading me to believe this may be a discriminatory practice towards...
Read moreI witnessed a shocking incident at the Wawa located at 3744 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 on Friday, September 5, 2025, around 5:05 PM. A customer was clearly confused about where to wait for their order, and instead of helping, an employee yelled at them, mocked them, and even laughed.
What happened next was horrifying — the customer fainted and collapsed to the floor, and the employee did absolutely nothing to assist. In fact, they criticized the customer for being on the floor instead of offering help. The complete lack of concern for a medical emergency was shocking and dangerous.
As someone observing, it was clear this was grossly negligent behavior. No human should be treated this way, especially in a public store where safety should be a priority. I hope Wawa corporate investigates this store thoroughly, holds the employee accountable, and ensures no one else is subjected to this level of cruelty and negligence.
This is not just bad customer service — it is a serious safety issue, and I would never recommend this...
