As a longtime member of the West Philadelphia community, I feel compelled to speak on my experience at Yummy Diner. While the diner is located in a predominantly Black neighborhood and clearly benefits from Black patronage, the treatment that Black customers receive is consistently disrespectful and dismissive.
It’s disheartening to support a business that shows such disregard for the very community that keeps it thriving. A place that profits from our culture and dollars should at the very least offer basic respect in return.

Read moreI will give them 5 Stars because if you like Soul Food this Breakfast Spot comes the closest to it in Taste and Taste alone. They live up to their name, BUT! Not the cleanest, not the best crowd of customers. They are almost always packed only stools if you want to sit in so you will be rubbing knees and elbows with the next person. If you want to take out you have to make sure someone sees that you are next in line because you will be assed out an get skipped. I must say if you are gun ho about cleanliness and no pork grease this is NOT the place for you.😒 You may want to go to 52 St Dinner or Goldenbox, but Yummys has taste...
