Bahama Buck's - Laveen — Restaurant in Phoenix

An absolute favorite treat.... however the two male employees pretending to work tonight (Thu 2/7/19 8:15 pm) were so stoned they left 4 cars stuck im the drive- through for over 45 minutes without taking any orders. Car 1 pulled up and knocked on the pick up window to get their attention but the pair just looked and laughed at the customer. Car 2 tried to reverse to get out of line but couldn't escape until Car 1 finally fed up exited, parked and walked insude to the counter to order.... even then the two employees moved like molasses. Clearly they were still glassy eyed and didn't realize it was the same customer they ignored in the drive thru. That is the only reasonable explanation for never apologizing to anyone for the ridiculously unnecessary long wait for service. Car 3 waited at the ordering kiosk with his window down for an additional 20 minutes after car two sped out of the parking lot. Then foolishly pulled forward to the pick up window now eye to eye with Cheech and Chong standing at the register and still nothing but blank stares. After Car 3 finally gave up Car 4 went to the straight to the pick up window now having witnessed the entire scene. Waved politely at the two young men who had no business being near money, food or sharp ice shaving machines, looked for but could not locate a phone number or contact info for that location's franchise management. They were left with this only recourse to review and give notice to this restaurant's poor service standards. Which is so disappointing after having met one of the owners on Free Snow Day just a couple months ago. I really hope they take serious and immediate actions to address this issue and maintain the customer service standards this brand was build on.

I am a huge Bahama Bucks fan and would do the drive to Tempe just to feed the craving so when this one opened I was ecstatic. Yesterday was my first time at this location and while the shaved ice was amazing as usual it was their customer service. I understand that it's a new location and traffic is high but to have 15 girls screaming, laughing and talking over the cashier was irritating. I'm sure it's a fun place to work but we couldn't even hear the cashier with all of those girls screaming behind the counter. There were only 3 other families inside but the tables were sticky and the only ones working was the cashier and the girl in the drive thru.

I also witnessed poor treatment of a homeless man who PAID for his drink and spilt it moments after getting it. They wouldn't make him a new one and only after another man offered to pay did they make him one. This was heartbreaking to see and really put a bad taste in my mouth. Why should I give money to people that treat others this way?! Honestly if I accidentally spilt one they'd make me a new one no questions asked but they hassled this guy and it was heartbreaking. Although a convenient location for me, I'll do the drive to Tempe or Chandler to receive service with empathetic and...

I’ve visited several times but 7 out of 10 the snoh is melted the moment they hand it to me. They told me to ask for “light syrup” but I still get melted snoh. So this time they told me to ask for “very light syrup” - this was never a problem at other locations.

Update 12.23.19 - I visited again after speaking to the owner a few months ago to see if the problem still persists. Unfortunately, still the same issue, my Bahama Rama Mama had too much syrup - the snow was mushy/melted in the middle.

Update March 21, 2020 - major improvement. Melting snoh no longer a problem. Updated to 5 stars.

Updated June 13, 2022 - this place has very bad quality control. It’s a hit or miss every time. While the melting snoh is no longer a problem, now I cross my fingers and hope I don’t get 1) crunchy snoh 2) way too much juice 3) way too little juice and 4) WAY to much ice cream in the bahama Rama mama. Half the cup is ice cream? I’m barely getting snoh.

I love bahama bucks so much I keep going and I always see new faces. The training of these folks need to be better....
