Blue Mesa Taco — Restaurant in Phoenix

Oh man, I came here on accident thinking this was the only burrito that was worth trying but nope! If only I went to Chelsea's Kitchen for the breakfast one rather than suffering through this horrible burrito. The woman behind the counter was really cool, pleasant and hooked me up with a much better deal, but the food... Oh, how bummed I was to eat here over the other place. It tasted of a gas station or horrible school lunch quality. The guacamole was largely flavorless, the salsa wasn't spicy, and everything was bland.

Edit: strangely enough the food quality is dependent upon who cooks it that day. I've returned a few more times and one day I had a great quesadilla prepared by Akil. The salsa was much better and so was the meat, plus it was cooked to the T. He also told me he was eager to lead a life in service to cooking, so that sets the precedent a little higher for someone of that career outlook. The other folks could learn a thing or two from him since he loves doing it. They're younger and therefore less experienced, so just keep that in mind over this being an outright assault. We're always looking to improve ourselves and this could be a way for those who care about doing so. Take the initiative and be open minded over feeling offended!

The worse possible service ever! No one was at the counter so I walked over near the back room to see if someone was in back but then I realized she was sitting down chit -chatting with some friends at on of the tables. She saw me but didn't make a move or acknowledge me in anyway. She did get up to come behind the counter and this is when I realized she was the server. Still she did not say anything but just went to the sink to wash her hands. When I politely asked if they were open she rudely answered that "Yes, but I'm washing my hands." I then said I wasn't sure because she hadn't greeted me, at which point she snapped that I wasn't in the right spot to order, (the reason being that I had to go in search of someone to take my order)... I then told her to forget it.

If you're losing business at this location it's because of service like this. This is not the first time I have gotten rude service at this restaurant but it will be the last as I will NEVER stop...

Not good. You'd think it would be hard to mess up plain ol mexican grill food..... I ordered a bowl with a lot of lettuce for basically a salad. The chicken was ok, the lettuce was standard but the peppers and onions were gross.... you could tell they had been there a loooong time. They didn't have salsa only pico... which is ok but you couldn't see the bin she was getting it out of because the metal lid was blocking it. I have no idea what extras they had. The server did not want to be there. No gloves. She couldn't put gloves on anyways cause her fake nails were so long they would never have fit. Bad attitude. I generally try to be empathetic and sympathetic to folks... I don't know what good or bad is going on in their lives but try at least to engage when you're at work! Don't eat here.
