I don't have a lot of dining experience at this airport and the overpriced menu items are a huge factor! However, desperate and having no choice, I made a decision to treat myself to a meal before my flight. This restaurant was conveniently located right next to my gate and, pressed for time, they had major crowds crowds of customers shuffling in and out but I took a chance! One side of this walk-in, order, grab and go had wood-fired pizzas (very thin crust in two kinds only for $15 each no drink, no sides) and on the other side was a very small, simple menu of burgers, sandwiches, even some breakfast items. Ingredients were fresh, and sounded delicious as I quickly skimmed through, plus it was more food for about the same price of one 10" thin pizza. I settled for the California Burger cooked to order, aioli sauce that was the star if the meal, tomatoes, lettuce, fresh slices of avocado, melted cheese, and mayo. The burger was perfected exactly to my liking, bun was warm, fresh ingredients, and it came with fries which were very good! I like mine crisp on the outside, light not dense, and softer in the middle, they were hot, not too salty so I added a little. The meal was to take 10 minutes, it only took 7-yes, I timed it due to my flight boarding very soon! I was lucky to snag a table to sit-good luck with this, it's super crowded! For $15, it was not a bad deal and I actually went back to the place again but ordered a breakfast sandwich (sandwich commuter with fresh egg, avocado, sweet mayo sauce, tomato, lettuce and I had to order fries but still about $16!) It was even better! They offer bottled sodas, water, etc for $3 each-I grab one of these so all in all less than $20. For the airport, I highly...
Read moreLGO is such a special place at their home location. Unfortunately, the airport LGO cafe is unorganized and chaotic. There are plenty of staff around but no one working at of the three checkout registers. A line of pilots and crew began to form around the counter near the pizza station. They stood in line and waited for staff to come back to the register. No acknowledgment for over 15 minutes. It was very confusing. Where do we cue up, who takes our order, are we able to order sandwiches and burgers at the pizza station, is it all the same? We had to interrupt the burger station staff and asked them to take our order, they were clearly annoyed. We explained how confusing it was and that we’re all just standing around waiting to place orders and buy stuff. They have huge menus behind the cashier promoting salads, sandwiches and burgers but they said they are no longer taking salad orders. They do have a grab and go salad option in the coolers but, there was only one option. I was excited to see LGO at Sky Harbor but, it’s certainly not worth spending the time standing around while there are other great cafes and eateries nearby...
Read moreThis is a haven for weary travelers. The ambience in this place is fantastic, and the food, despite the high airport prices, is excellent. Atmosphere is that of a very casual deli/market. Their is a bar and full kitchen, but the relaxed jazz and great coffee make it a great place to relax between flights. Phoenix is a major airport for connecting flights, and this place made my 2 hour layover feel like a nice extended lunch break. Their coffee was SUPERB! Picture included of the wonderful Ethiopian brew. I had a blackberry scone while my family enjoyed the bbq bacon burgers. The food was really a notch above most travelling fare. The customer service was great! The prices were steep, but the environment and service almost made up for the price tag. Bbq bacon burger is $14 each, comes with fries. Salads are $12. The coffee and some was reasonably priced, however, at only $2.25 for a small bottomless coffee (16 oz) and $3.40 for an oversized scone, I would say it was a good deal. I expect to pay higher prices for meals at airports, but they went the extra mile on making this a great place to relax, especially for the...
