OK, I know this is an airport restaurant, so they have a captive audience, but I fly to Phoenix frequently and I will not be a repeat customer.
First, the service. The restaurant wasn't that busy so I was seated right away. My waiter briefly greeted me and said he'd be right with me. They don't have a big menu and I wanted something light so I opted for the soup of the day. I felt my waiter was a bit stand-offish tower's me. He quite curtly asked me what I'd like. I asked what the soup of the day was. Tomato bisque was his reply, to which I said I'd take it. He walked away.
After what seemed like a long wait for soup, he places the bowl and my iced tea in front of me.
The food The soup was rather bland. I had to add a bunch of salt to it to make it palatable. It had some shredded parmesan cheese and basil, which was nice but it just tasted like they took a few tomatoes and threw them in a blender. No effort for adding spices or cream to make it taste less like canned soup. It also came with a side of toast, I guess for dunking? It would have been nice if they did something with the toast like add butter and maybe some garlic to give it some flavor. Or maybe make it into bruschetta. That would go nicely with the soup.
Back to the service I noticed something odd about the waiter. Others came in after me and he greeted them in a more friendly manner. He went through the specials that were on the menu. He didn't offer that with me. It was really strange. And when I finally finished my soup, he walked past me several times and didn't acknowledge my empty plate. He never once asked me how I was doing or if everything was okay. I had to flag him down and ask for the bill. Even then, he walked by my table several more times, empty handed. Two more times he said, "oh, let me get you the bill." This is concerning because what if I had to go catch a flight? Lucky for him, I had a long layover.
The bill I find it ridiculous I paid $15 for ice tea and a bowl of subpar soup.
The verdict Not coming back and won't recommend due to poor service, subpar and overpriced food.
You're better off...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining here and I must say it was the worst service I have ever encountered. The server's attitude was beyond disappointing and left a lasting negative impression on our entire dining experience.
From the moment we were seated, it was evident that the server had no interest in providing even the most basic level of customer service. He seemed disengaged, as if he would rather be anywhere else than working. His dismissive and rude demeanor was truly unacceptable.
To make matters worse, there were no straws and no drink menu, the server seemed annoyed and never bothered to bring one even if they didThe lack of politeness and attention to detail was astonishing.
In light of the abysmal service we received, we made the decision to leave a $0 tip. However, to our utter disbelief, we later discovered that the server had taken it upon himself to add a tip to the bill. This alleged act of theft is completely unacceptable and has left us feeling violated as customers. We have retained the receipt as evidence and will be reporting this incident to the authorities.
It is important to note that the server's behavior was completely unjustifiable. Regardless of the level of service, stealing is never an appropriate response. We are deeply disappointed that our terrible experience at Chelsea's Kitchen has now escalated to potential legal action.
To the server responsible for this egregious misconduct, we hope you understand the consequences of your actions. Your lack of professionalism and integrity should not go unpunished. We sincerely hope that Chelsea's Kitchen takes appropriate action and addresses this matter seriously.
Our visit was marred by the worst service we have ever encountered. The server's dismissive and rude attitude, combined with the alleged act of theft, has left a lasting negative impression. We strongly advise potential diners to exercise caution when considering this establishment, as the quality of service and integrity of the staff are...
Read moreI stopped here a day or two after arriving on September 11 in hopes of flying out to Algeria to meet Michael on our love endeavor together, only to be stranded in the airport for weeks without any mention of addressing the travel agent who screwed us both over. I lost $545 to a ticket and after selling and giving away all of my belongings and had nothing but the 4 bags to travel with, I was living at the airport and relying upon the generosity of the restaurant workers when I ran out of money to sustain myself. One manager here was benevolent enough to treat me to a burger with fries during the last few days of the month, in which I am grateful for. And please, of which her real name I do not know of, ask the workers across the way (Akil at Blue Mesa Taco), James & Tony who deal with the wheelchairs in customer service on level 1, Toryn at Guy Fieri's and they'll affirm my time spent here so you may believe my story. I know Carl (the old hunchback man with a tattered red bag on his walker waiting for his bags to return to him) sought you out for help too when he was out of food; I helped him where I could as well and he told me about your kindness. I've never begged for food in my life until this failed travel plan occurred, so my thanks for those who took it upon themselves to aid the needy. Most people are not overtly hospitable, but the few you meet along the way make all the difference. ✝️ Thank you kind stranger.
