First time in El New YoricanšŸ—½šŸ‡µšŸ‡· and YOU have to go! It may look like your average food truck, but El New Yorican is anything but! Don’t let appearances fool you, the food is AMAZING. We were able to taste: arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), pernil asado (roasted pulled pork), mofongo relleno de camarones (mashed green plantain stuffed with garlic jumbo shrimp), alcapurrias de masa (las originales), tostones (fried green plantains), maduros (fried sweet plantains), pastelillos del guayaba (guava pastry), quesitos de guayaba y queso (guava and cream cheese pastry) y Coco Rico (coconut soda)… OMG!!! Do you remember the scene in Ratatouille when Ego tasted Remy’s plate and it took him back to his infancy when his Mom made it for him? That’s exactly what you will experience with Solo’s (Alberto Rivera) cousine. I remembered my abuela! ā¤ļø AUTHENTICšŸ‡µšŸ‡·, tasty, delicious, well seasoned and condimented food… from a hospitable host, delicious dishes (the rice, to the pork, to the shrimp, to desert)… it was GREAT! Considering the quality, and the size of the portions, the price is a steal. He won new customers today! The service we received was fantastic. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to eat authentic home made Puertorrican food. We will definitely be back again even if we have to drive 10 hours round trip… cause it’s worth it! Thank you!

We came all the way from Queen Creek to visit because we have been on a search for great PR food in AZ since we moved from Chicago two years ago. The owner, Alberto, was so welcoming and offered us some samples as it was our first time there. What can I say other than THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We tried quite a few different dishes: pernil con arroz y gandules, carne frita con arroz blanco y frijoles negros, alcapurrias, empanada, relleno de papa, flan, pastelillos de guava, kola champagne and a coco rico! I am not kidding when I say we ate every bit of this! We had the alcapurria first and it was PHENOMENAL! The empanada and its shell/crust was perfection. The flavors were soooo darn good on every dish that we are already planning our next trip. I usually take pictures of every dish but we were so eager I forgot the pics. This just means we will need to go back soon and I will add another review with pictures. Alberto, we’d love to have your food truck in Queen Creek if you ever have the opportunity!

I met Solo, the owner over a year ago. Turned out we have the same last name and were both from the Bronx. Immediately I had to try the food. Oh mah gawd. I live in scottsdale and I found myself driving 30 mins to his food truck in Laveen. I spent months convincing him to come to Scottsdale. I finally got him to agree and I couldn't be happier. My apartment (huge shout outbto dan tropez) made it work and he's killing it. I dont care what PR restaurant in AZ you been to, this man is serving mastery.... every thing on the menu is an absolute smash! I couldn't be happier to have found him....and I can't wait for yall to read this and be drawn to trying it. From the appetizers to the main dish.... all of it!

From the moment I walked up to the food truck, Alberto (Solo) the owner was very welcoming. I never once felt rushed or like my business didn't matter. I initially went there planning to order the Carne Frita y Arroz Con Gandules and a Kola Champagne. After trying a sample of the Pernil y Arroz Con Gandules, I was shook🤯 I ended up ordering the Pernil y Arroz Con Gandules, the Mofongo (Solo), an Empanada and a Kola Champagne. The food is freshly prepared when you order it, it's not sitting around someplace drying out all day hoping to be sold. Of course because the Pernil cooks for hours and the rice takes a minute, those things are already prepared but I assure you, the flavor was fresh! While waiting for my food, I was chatting with the owner Alberto who is very personable and clearly very passionate about what he does. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and the quality of the food and service he provides. Not to mention, you'll learn a thing or two if you're wise enough to listenšŸ˜ Back to the food - my favorite thing out of the entire order was the Pernil y Arroz Con Gandules. The Pernil was so well seasoned and so perfectly tender, you really didn't need teeth to eat it. The arroz was also perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I definitely have to say I haven't had Puerto Rican food this good since before I moved out of Chicago. All in all, El New Yorican is THE PLACE to go when you want AMAZING Puerto Rican food that's cooked and served by an owner that truly believes in high quality and certainly appreciates your business. I'll...

Amazing stop if your craving Authentic Puerto Rican food. First off the Owner makes you feel welcomed as if he's known you for years, very friendly and polite. His interaction with his customers is on point. Not one of those places you spend your money and don't feel wanted. He took the time to speak to my wife who's not Puerto Rican, allowed her to sample items before spending money. The desserts were mouth watering, and freshly made. My favorite is definitely the flan de coco,(perfectly made) Everything we had was delicious. money well spent. Certain items are seasonal or bi-weekly so maybe call ahead to confirm. But we Can't find anything to complain about this spot besides not having it sooner. My wife and I are excited to go next weekend for other dishes. We definitely will be returning customers. I had to tell the owner his food tasted just like my grandmothers cooking as a child. Hands down the best Puerto Rican food in Az so far.

I wish I got the owners name, but thank you for your service and keep up the amazing job. God bless and well...
