$9.10 for a Burger Fries and soft drink. Not as much as the chains like Red Robin, but more than a run-of-the-mill at McDonalds. So you'd assume that a locally owned place charging you that price would give you something worth at least that, right? Well, don't expect it here.
First of all, I feel it is really telling that the owner lovingly comments "thank you" on every positive post but leaves no reply on negative posts. I want to ask them why.
I ordered a simple hamburger, their basic offering, with fries and a drink. It came out stupid fast. Like 2 minutes! The meat was lukewarm, dry, and just bland. The cheese was stiff and cold, like even though it was on a hot burger made on a hot grill, it felt like it came right out of a cooler. I was instantly unhappy. But unhappiness doesn't drive me to Google to write a review. What I saw next is though.
The next customer who stopped in ordered a burger too. I was sitting at the counter, so I could watch it be made. The cook pulled open a warming tray drawer thing of pre-cooked burger patties, slapped one back on the grill, and left it just long enough for the fries to be reheated and threw it all on a plate.
Wendys, Carl's Jr, McDonalds--the bottom rung of burger fast food--don't even pre-cook patties anymore. Not to mention that barely three miles away from Lennys is an In-n-Out where I can beat their price by $2 and get fresh never frozen food. Or, I could go two miles south and get 5 Guys and pay the same and get something that starts as a ball--not even patty--of meat before I order it.
Seriously, you'd think a local shop would take pride in itself given the stiff competition from chains, but Lenny's takes no pride. And this can't be blamed on a lazy cook, or unaware manager here either. I blame the owner. Because if the owner cared, that pre-cooked meat drawer container thing wouldn't be in their establishment. But it is.
It isn't hard to cook a meat patty when its ordered. I don't even care if the meat was pre-frozen. A meat patty that is cooked anywhere from minutes to hours before its put back on the grill to be made into a burger for a customer is an insult this day and age.
I see the number of positive reviews and I just don't get it. Maybe they visited when the store was too busy for pre-made food? I went at 5pm on a Thursday... I was one of four customers. Regardless, any hour, any day, if your food isn't at least cooked for me, you don't deserve my $9 or $10 or any dollars. I can get fresh at McDonalds--and they don't deserve my money either, but after last Thursday, they're more likely to get...
Read moreFirst let me say, all the other Lenny locations get 5 stars across the board. However, tonight my brother and I decided to try this location for the first time. As we entered, two employees were eating food at the prep area while looking at us but not saying anything, they just continued eating. After a few minutes, a different lady appeared and said it would be a few more minutes and she would help. I then suggested to my brother that maybe we should go to one of the other locations. She immediately became irritated with me, and asked me if I was going to leave to another location. She had no reason to butt in my conversation with my brother. She then decided to take our order. I asked for the chili dogs, and she said they were out of hot dogs. Ok.... We then ordered corndogs and rootbeer floats. She was obviously furious with me at this moment, and I had to de-escalate on my end fearing what would she do next. As she gave me the rootbeer floats, it was obvious that the one she gave to me was not the same as the one my brother had. By this time, I was not very confident in accepting this product, so I went back to the counter and asked one of the food eating employees if I could speak to the manager. The angry lady came back and said she was the manager. I tried to explain that I was no longer comfortable with this rootbeer float, and asked for a drink cup instead. She refused to just give me one, so I didn't mind paying for another drink just for my own personal safety. I really don't think this lady should be managing a restaurant, especially one that I have grown to expect a level of customer service that is...

I drove 20 minutes to Central Phoenix to visit Lenny’s, a familiar favorite, after a disappointing experience elsewhere (a completely different restaurant) and I’m so glad I did. From the moment we walked in, the service and overall vibe were excellent.
Even though the staff was cleaning the lobby when we arrived, they immediately came to the register to take our order without hesitation. I wasn’t sure what I wanted yet, but they waited patiently while I decided. The food was great as always—fresh, tasty, and exactly what we were craving.
After ordering, we sat in a booth and started looking around for mustard. One of the staff overheard us mention it and immediately offered to bring some over. That kind of attentiveness is rare and really stood out. While we were waiting, we noticed a difference between the hours listed online and the hours on the door. Without us even asking, a staff member came over to clarify that the lobby was open until 10, and the drive-thru until 11. That extra effort to be helpful made a huge impression.
On our way out, we decided to order a root beer float. After we left the register to admire the art displayed around the corner, the staff went out of their way to find us and personally hand it over when it was ready.
It’s clear the team here knows how to multitask—keeping the place clean, preparing to close, and still putting the customer first. The level of attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond made our visit feel genuinely valued. This is the kind of service that keeps people coming back....
