Wild Thaiger's open kitchen isn't just a design feature; it's a testament to their commitment to transparency and quality. Seeing the chefs at work instills confidence, assuring you that your meal is being prepared with care and pride.
Our dining experience was a delightful journey through Thai flavors, beginning with the acclaimed Dragon Eggs. These crispy, deep-fried orbs, filled with a savory meat mixture and a subtle hint of fish, arrived sizzling in a pan with a vibrant, flavorful sauce. It's easy to see why this dish was featured on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives."
I ordered the Mu Yang, another Triple D highlight. The Mu Yang showcased perfectly charred pork skewers alongside a refreshing green papaya salad. The salad’s tangy dressing was exceptional, and the accompanying sticky mango rice was flawlessly executed.
My guest chose the Yellow Curry with chicken. While advertised as mild, the curry possessed a pleasant medium spice level that perfectly suited my palate. However, it proved a bit too fiery for my guest. The chicken and potatoes within were tender and well-cooked.
Despite a bustling atmosphere during the first half of our visit, the service remained attentive and efficient, striking the perfect balance between presence and discretion. The prices were also refreshingly reasonable, especially in today's post-shutdowns dining landscape.
It's clear why Guy Fieri featured Wild Thaiger on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." The combination of authentic flavors, visible kitchen craftsmanship, and excellent service makes Wild Thaiger a must-try for any Thai food or Triple...
Read moreWe were driving around downtown Phoenix looking for a downtown spot to eat. We stopped at a restaurant but then remembered we had looked up Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives featured restaurants. So we quickly changed our plan and headed to the Wild Thaiger. In our week long trip, this was the BEST food experience we had around Arizona. Here’s why: we ordered the dragon eggs, which were featured on the show. They were even better than we expected. We got half and half steamed and crispy, and ate every one of them. We also ordered a veggie egg roll and the spring rolls, which were fresh and amazing. Since we came there because of the show, we were going to order Guy Fieri’s picks, but we noticed they called their soups Hot Pots, so we decided to order those before ordering Guy Fieri’s picks. The climax of the meal was when they served our hot pots, which arrived in authentic, Thai style volcano bowls, that were warmed by flame. The broths, vegetables, and meats were everything you could’ve imagined and more. We ordered the coconut broth with tofu and veggies and the super soup. Both had different style broths and were equally amazing. The coconut one has the extra punch of flavor. We ate our entire hot pots and didn’t order anything else since we were so stuffed! They also had authentic Asian beer choices, which was cool. We spoke with the waitress about DDD and she gave us a lot of good information about the restaurant, the show, and the surrounding area. The service was incredible, excellent, A+! If you haven’t been to Wild Thaiger in downtown Phoenix, then you don’t know what...
Read moreI was in town for a tech conference and wandered in because of the hustle, bustle and excitement I saw. The place was pretty busy, and yet I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Unfortunately no outside dinning was available, I was offered I could wait, but not having patience I sat inside. This aroma's and sounds of the kitchen made my mouth even more hungry. I Ordered the Super Natural Mahi Mahi. It had crunchy fresh local organics on top with a tangy chili sauce. The server knew all of the organics (which I have since forgotten), and I was able to substitute a few without an issue. I wish it was just a bit more spicy, but it was still very savory.
The crowd started to die down as I was eating alone. She came back, and we made some small talk, and she was very attentive to detail. She had an assumptive close that went "You're in town for a Tech Conference, so you surely want to have the caramel cheesecake. Its my favorite. And don't forget, that your company is going to pay for it!" I couldn't resist the extra sugar/carbs and being closed that way. I very seldom have desserts, but I'm glad I had this one. I had such a great time, after dessert I asked the server if I could take a picture of her as I would be posting about this. She agreed and chatted about a mutual experience of photography so I took some fun shots of her. I wandered in being hungry, but left with...
