My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Large Philly Steak is fairly lean and tender, thinly sliced, griddle fried with olive oil, splashed with onions and topped with a solid amount of tasty melted white American cheese in a 10” Italian Bread roll along with an order of crunchy and tasty French fries. Touted as the best in Arizona, and although enjoyably tasty and fresh, in my opinion (for what it’s worth) it comes just slightly short of what one would call a true Philly! The diner-like eatery is clean, nicely arranged with both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as great personal attention, allowing for a comfortable and gratifying quick lunch. As one to have had Phillies from across the country, including its hometown of Philadelphia, and can understand variations on the Philly theme, I tend to be a traditionalist in the sense that if a Philly Cheese Steak is not traditionally prepared, it should be called a ‘Philly-Style’ Cheese Steak! I rationalize this statement under the same pretense just as I have reviewed and written about the traditional ‘Cuban Sandwich’. Despite Best of Philly’s derivation, it is, within reason, a very, very good sandwich. Regrettably, nowhere on their menu do they offer the ‘real’ thing which undoubtedly would include the deli roast beef of rib eye or occasionally top round steak griddled and chopped into virgin olive oil, afforded melted provolone cheese, with preferences like of pepper, sautéed onions, mayo, mushrooms, maybe some hot sauce, along with salt, pepper, and/or ketchup, and it would be too costly to fly in the bread from PA… don’t get me wrong though, we’re not in Philly and this is the closest to a real Philly I’ve run across in Phoenix – keep it up guys, we’ll be back for more. ...

I remembered why I had stopped going to this place years ago. I stopped in today, thinking maybe I was mistaken. I love philly cheesesteaks and had a hankering for one. This is the only place nearby minus Subway, which after eating this food, I should have gone to Subway instead. I ordered the regular Philly Cheesesteak without bell peppers and opted for cheeze whiz instead of provolone. I got the regular not the half and the meal, it came to a little over $16. I got back to work, there was no cheeze whiz and if they did add cheeze whiz it was so minimal you could not taste it or see it. In comparison to bread the amount of meat could have been a little more. The steak that was provided was bland. With no cheeze wiz or seasoning the most flavor I got were the mushroom taste and the onion. Also, the fries were greasy and just eh.I hope this helps the business owner. I know its a rush sometimes, but it was only me and one other customer so I don't know why there wouldn't have been time to actually make sure you're seasoning the meat and adding the cheeze whiz. The fries were also not seasoned and if they were, again so minimally that I couldn't taste it. I added some salt when I got back to my desk. It tasted like bland steak, bread and the occasional bite of onion and mushrooms. I only finished half because I paid for the damn thing and was hungry. I threw the other half away and most...

I've been wanting to go to this place for a long time and finally had my opportunity! After reading all the reviews the expectation was extremely high so I was almost sure I would be disappointed.

Ordered a cheese steak, fries, and soda... I got my sandwich with just steak and cheese... nothing else (I know.. boring!!)

Let me say it's a really nice atmosphere and service was super speedy! I saw "extra steak" on the menu and I wish I saw that before I ordered because I'm all about the extra steak but as it turns out their regular sandwich already has plenty.

I have to say this... when i first opened my sandwich to eat.. I looked at the meat and the first thing that came to mind was "Alpo dog food" lol It took me about a minute to get over the dog food texture and took the first bite! WOW! It was delicious! Awesome fresh bread, the steak was made perfectly, and the fries were the perfect compliment.

One of the reviewers said it best.. these people make addictive sandwiches! I want to go back again soon because I'm craving hard for these cheese steaks!

I'll be back again.. and...

4️⃣-Point Review ✅ Food 🥪🍟 • Stopped in to try out their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, and it was one of the best I’ve had outside of Philadelphia! I technically got what they call a “Bomb Philly” which is just the cheesesteak sandwich but loaded with american cheese, grilled onions, Mushrooms, Pepperoncini, and Sweet Peppers. So good, even the bread they use is custom made for their cheesesteaks. Service 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 • It was my first time stopping in, and they had my sandwich freshly made just a few minutes after I ordered! Great staff Atmosphere 🍽️🪑• Small little lunch spot, with limited tables inside, but tons of outside tables right on Central Ave. Guess they’ve been here since 1995, one of the staples of Downtown/Central Phoenix Sustainability Rating ♻️ 8/10 • I went inside and ate there, they only had styrofoam cups and I believe one time use cutlery for their dine-in experience. They could at least switch those to reusable utensils for in-person dining

Tasty little spot with simple charm. Straightforward menu with the focus on the cheese steaks. Golden crispy fries that may be slightly under salted for some so grab a packet from any of the tables if you want. I ordered a double meat double cheese the bomb, but the bomb part got lost in translation so I got a the bomb with no mushrooms, peppers, or it's other topping just meat in cheese. That was pretty disappointing as it was about to close and by the time I walked back it would be unreasonable to keep them to fix it. That being said I'm sure they would have. Super friendly crew, and the order error was just a blip from the order notes. All that aside, the sandwiches were delicious; cheesy, meaty, juicy without sog on a big fluffy roll. We'll be back and I'm gonna try that bomb next time. Two full sandwiches (one with double meat and cheese) two fries, and two fountain drinks for like 38 bucks. Hell yeah.

This place has been here for as long as I can remember, and they make one of the worst philly cheesesteaks in Phoenix. Their meat is not seasoned, so it doesn't have any flavor at all, when the original owner was there his philly cheesesteaks tasted waaaay better. I asked the cook if they added any type of season to the meat and his answer shocked me, he said, and I quote: "NO, we just cook it the way it comes." Now, the bread get SUPER SOGGY once they put the meat on it, and if you let it sit there for a couple minutes as soon as you try to take a bite, it will fall apart on your hands. The french fries are to laugh at, McDonald's fries are better than they're tiny skinny strings of potatoes, they should call them 'stringfries'. The owner is not even from the US, and there she is trying to cook a traditional all american food.
