I live at least half an hour away from Lucky's, but regardless of the distance, it is worth the drive. My discovery of Lucky's was when I was looking at some of the highest-rated burger places in the Phoenix area on Yelp. From the first visit, I can see why it has an excellent rating. It is among my favorite burger places and a contender for the best burger in Arizona. On my first visit, I got a triple burger with fries and a milkshake. The milkshake contained butterscotch and Oreos. Butterscotch and Oreos are a combination that often gets overlooked. It is an impressive combination. The burger and fries are among the best I have ever had. I like how much spice that is placed on the fries. Just the right amount and not overbearing. The burgers are a little on the thin side, but they are delicious and juicy. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of sauces to accompany the burgers. The house-made Thousand Island sauce is delicious, and it tastes much better than the kind you find in stores. I also like the old-school atmosphere. With many pictures along the walls, it feels like you are in a classic diner, taking a trip back in time. While the food and atmosphere are excellent, the best part is the service. The owner, Marvin, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Every time I have walked in, he has greeted me with a warm smile, asking how my day was going, and has been patient with me whenever I needed some time to figure out what I would like to have that day. You can tell that he cares about everyone in his business having a great experience. For such great food, the prices are very reasonable. Although I do not visit the area very often, I always stop by Lucky's Burgers and Shakes whenever I am in the area and recommend it to anyone seeking a great burger place in Phoenix.

While out running around at a nearby location we decide to stop by Lucky's and check them out. First thoughts upon pulling into the parking lot was that it was very small and could be very difficult to find parking depending on time of day. It is in a very old part of town and the buildings show it. Once inside we were greeted right away by the owner and his smile. You can tell he loves what he does. After telling him we had never been in before he told us a bit about the place and what some favorite items might be. He told me he loved the 1/4 lb with cheese, green chile, bacon, thousand island (made in-house) with a little bbq sauce and all the fixings aka tomato, lettuce, onion and such. That sounded delicious so I made it a meal with fries and a vanilla milkshake since they were out of bananas, bummer. They had quite a few other flavors. The location is small and maybe six tables or so. The place was pretty busy , but we luckily found one of the last tables. My brother ordered the half lb burger with just cheese, lettuce, tomato and mustard/ketchup as well as a hot dog. Our food came out pretty quick and my burger looked and tasted phenomenal. My brother liked his burger, but the hot dog he said was horrible and way over cooked. He did not finish it. Fries were good, but I've had better. I really enjoyed my burger. Flavor was good. Milkshake was ok but tasted like made with premade items. Ceiling fans could use a good dusting, but other than that pretty clean. Again burger was great, service awesome and prices were really a good deal for the size of the burger and meal options.

Sometimes the best spots are the ones you stumble upon by chance, and that’s exactly what happened here. I was in the area, opened Google Maps to see what was around, and decided to give this place a try. I walked in with zero expectations, but I walked out genuinely impressed and already thinking about when I can come back. The first thing that stood out was the burgers. They were cooked really well—juicy, flavorful, and made with quality meat. You could tell care went into preparing them, not just something thrown together. Every bite was satisfying, and it honestly exceeded what I was expecting for a random find. The fries were another highlight. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. They weren’t just filler on the side; they were something I’d order on their own. The corn dog was also surprisingly delicious. Simple, but done right, and it added to the overall experience. The vibe of the place felt casual and welcoming, the kind of spot that makes you want to relax and enjoy your food without rushing. It’s rare for me to walk into a place I’ve never been before and leave feeling like I found a hidden gem, but that’s exactly how it felt. I can easily see myself coming back here, and next time I’ll be bringing my family along. Great food, good atmosphere, and one of those spots worth remembering.

Man this place is a Amazing not well known wonder!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE STARS !!!! I can not STRESS ENOUGH NEVER EVER JUDGE A BOOK By Its COVER !!!! To not eat here you would be missing a very vital part of the goodness you are meant to experience in this life!!!! Okay buckle up i plan to be a lil long winded but I promise reading this will not disappoint. So with all that we've been going through over the last year or better probably are better for me anyway as you can see I hope you can see my picture because I'm cute, duh ! Back as I will sing if you can see my picture you can see that I not only have been struggling with the kovid pandemic method every other American in the world is been dealing with but as you can see in the news in the media those of us who have a little tents in our skin have been dealing with just a little bit more actually a lot more . So because of all that has been happening in this covid and chauvin / floyd , McMichael, bryant / Ahmad arberry, Brianna Taylor (As well as many others) era... Coming outside in dealing with the rest of the world not knowing how some people may react to me or my family What's slightly a concern for me So when I went in this restaurant and me and my sister definitely did look likely belonged or fit if If I'm honest . I have to say that I wish I would have gotten the lady's name behind the counter I think I am gonna call there now! Well now im crying! And I have lost my train of thought. Just know this place deserves your business and the shakes and burgers are amazing! Dang it , I think her name is Julie!!!! I forgot though these tears but she makes the best shakes and I dont know who is on the grill but I cant lie I am gonna try to get a job there as a recipe stealer cause the burgers are UNBELIEVABLE yet really simple but they have that idk what it is that is hard to duplicate. I promise I am not Left in this review up because of the fact that the customer service made my heart swell with love and pride the burgers are amazing I am such a Burger lover and these burgers I just can't explain it people telling you it would be worth it if your amazing person your good person just go try it you'll see I'm not crazy and not rambling this is all real stuff go check it out it's...

Tucked away in a little shopping plaza off 19th Ave and Cactus, you'll find this amazing little gem of a burger place. I can't say enough good things about Lucky's Burgers & Shakes.

Let's start with the burgers... absolutely incredible! They have the most flavorful, juicy burger patty, topped with their homemade sauces, and then the regular burger toppings -- lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese. Sure it may sound like a regular ole burger but it's not. I don't know what they do but it's been a long time since I've found a place with a burger THIS good.

Then their fries. OMG the fries!!! They're seasoned to perfection, and made fresh to order. They're my favorite; and ones that I don't mind if my kids eat the whole order -- actually I encourage it.

And then, I think they're the only place around town where I've found this divine indulgence -- a coffee milkshake! This isn't an iced coffee drink, no. This is the creamy, let's-not-count-the-calories-treat-yourself kinda dessert drink that will elevate your mind and mood, while satisfying your sweet tooth. They've got plenty of other milkshake flavors but the coffee one is divine and my go-to.

The service is top-notch, and we've felt like family each time we stop in... that's partly why we love Lucky's so much. The staff takes the time to connect with their customers and you definitely don't feel like you're just a number or just an order here. The dine-in area is small and intimate, and, although we haven't stayed to eat (it's tough to go out with littles), it's clean and inviting.

The burger place may be named “Lucky's”, but WE are the lucky ones...
