I went to try this place out with my mother and my girlfriend. My girlfriend didn't touch her food after one bite, server never even asked why. I got the meatloaf, I was craving something home made and nice. It was beyond dry and was definitely kept in some weird way I've never seen, maybe boiled meatloaf? Yet flavorless and dry and did not look appetizing at all. I took a tiny bite and didn't touch the rest of my plate whatsoever. Waiter either didn't notice two of the three customers hadn't touched a bite of their food or is new to this industry. After 45 minutes he asked if we wanted to-go boxes since we had not touched our food and we're waiting on our check for over 15 minutes. We declined and we still had not been asked how our food was or if there was something wrong with our plates. The waiter then left a check, and then constantly hovered over us waiting for us to sign the check but hadn't given us the time of day for the entire night until now. Very rude and put a big knot in my stomach at how dis-tasteful this experience was. We were one of two tables in the establishment and closing time wasn't for another 30 minutes and we were walking out the door. The restaurant doesn't close for another 30 minutes so I don't understand why the entire staff is walking around and glancing at us as if we are a problem to them because we wanted something home made after an exhausting day, which we didn't even get to eat, and the bill was over $80. Absolutely ridiculous, if my mother and my girlfriend weren't with me I would have walked out, I've been in the food and beverage industry for over 15 years and this is by far the worst place I've...
Read moreI've been eating at that place with my family until I don't live since approximately I was five. Then again when I reunited with my foster mother and we'd go there weekly and it was still just as wonderful. And my God if it wasn't my mother's we would spend her teeth later into the two figures at the minimum one every two weeks. We moved into a new location and they said they couldn't deliver yet they extended hospitality because of the time that was his customers. Within the last 6 to 8 months I get so that they don't deliver in this area and when I'm Jeff sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I'm told they never did LOL it's making my taste and my desire to spread good words about this place less and less frequent especially when I'm in a very depressed mode or it's a holiday that me and my husband shared our special day and I called to get an order and I'm told the excuse that they can't deliver even though they only deliver to Glendale boulevard and I up to meet them there so I guess what I'm trying to say is they have increasingly gone downhill within my mind but worse yet even the the attentiveness to their consumer quarters of consistently started getting being wrong one time I ordered two teen cut prime ribs and it was very clear that one of them and I would charge dearly and I took very well anyways as I said I'm just very very disheartened that the fact that they won't go out of their way to make sure that a long time customer like I said I'm not at spring Chicken it is quite a few years there they really made it where I have no desire to go...
Read moreWe visited for the first time last Saturday, found the place when looking for a restaurant that has a salad bar as there are almost none around anymore. The restaurant has been around for a long time and is very retro but in great shape. Seemed well maintained and clean. Loved the old school salad bar, only complaint is the size of the plates. The bread plate size makes it difficult to eat without half of it falling off onto the table. My husband got the turkey dinner special and the turkey was moist and flavorful. Stuffing was sort of runny but had a good taste. Mashed potatoes were homemade and great, gravy and corn were decent. I had the bigger cut of prime rib with mashed potatoes and corn as well. I ordered it medium rare and it was medium to medium well instead. They gave me the end piece which is always the most cooked through. I did not send it back as that is a big loss for them as they can can't use it once it hits the table. It still was fairly tender and a pretty good taste thankfully, would've been much better rarer but still was fairly enjoyable. Came with Au jus and a good horseradish so that helped a lot. We split a piece of apple pie afterwards. They are really big pieces and pretty good pie, great value. Our whole bill before tip was only $45 including tax; we definitely want to try it again even if it is a 20 minute drive from home. Keep doing what...
