Pok-U — Restaurant in Phoenix

This place is a hot mess. If you can imagine a restaurant that has 5 restaurants inside then you're imagining right. Smorgasbord is a perfect way to describe it. The place was smokey because whatever the joining restaurants were cooking it was not enough ventilation to filter out the smoke.

Now to the sushi bowl I ordered🤢

If you like fresh sushi then avoid this place. The selection is poor and the presentation of it is even worse. I asked for the masago and it was absolutely disgusting. They had no crispys not any furikake not any seaweed nothing.

I picked around the "sushi bowl" I ordered trying to sniff and decide what was safe to eat. 🤦‍♂️

Look in all fairness i should have just walked away and took the "L" but they already had my money.

So word to the wise before you order at the "order here counter" go 5 feet down and look at their "sushi" section i guarantee you'll walk...

I decided to try the classic Poke bowl and it was very disappointing. When I got there I asked for asked for Diet Coke and the girl at counter said they didn’t have any. A guy interrupted her and said they did have it but then suggested a different drink. I decided to just get a sparking water bc I felt like there gonna give me regular coke lol. The rice was very hot and the tuna had hard and soft texture. I asked i kindly asked if I could get a refund but they said they could only exchange it for something else. The guy looked annoyed that went up to say something about the food tasting weird. They didn’t even apologize even tho I had barely took a few bites. I decided to choose the Phili cheese steak moms way. It was okay, it was was bland and the bread was also soggy. The whole layout of the place was also confusing, it’s basically four different...

Hands down one of the best Poke places in town.

Had the poke bowl this time. Build your own for $12 with GENEROUS portions. The fish is not bad and outcompetes other poke places in town. You can also get one of the pre-designed ones ranging $8-10, but I'm not one to mess around with poke and I go all out and get every topping.

They also do Uber eats and deliver right to your door if you don't like driving to this area (probably why they are able to keep prices...
