A friend took me here, to drink I had a watermelon punch that was delicious (side note the free water I had after tasted clean and amazingly good on my visit) I had a asada taco and gordita both were very good the gordita was filled with fresh ingredients and quite filling the crust or shell I'm not sure what to call it was very good and something I had never had I recommend this item for sure. The taco was what I expected from street tacos simple fresh and good, the tortillas were toasted and good as well but I can see the consistency of how much they toast them depends on how busy they are so an over or under done tortilla is likely common at times. The place itself us run down a bit and I'm sure would be off putting for some but it is some authentic stuff and they did a fair job keeping up what counts as far as how clean things are. The place is small and busy so is a the parking lot in front so be prepared to negotiate some tight parking and limited seating especially during busy hrs. The staff was friendly and helpful I felt welcome and comfortable. There is a defendant family type business atmosphere here and I won't say they are perfect but what they make is what you are looking for if simple authentic Mexican food is on your mind. I among many others my friend has brought here will now crave those items that just aren't the same...
Read moreWe have been coming here for years and I don't know if we will be coming back. Service was bad on Sunday when we visited. When we go there it was busy and there was a line so we got in line and one of us went to sit at an empty table given that the place was packed and there were only a few tables open. Also, we had seen people come in and do the same thing. One of the employees told my mother in law thay she could not sit at the table as we had to order first before being able to sit at a table. So my mother in law got up and came back in line and once we were close to ordering I went to sit down at the same table and the same employee came and told me that I couldn't sit there as that table was for some people who had ordered ahead of us. I told her that I had seen other people do the same as us and had gone straight to getting a table before ordering, and she just turned around and walked away. We decided to leave as we felt she was just targeting us, plus they have no sign that says that you have to order first before being able to get a table. If you're not going to apply that rule to everyone, it seems like you are just targeting and telling that to...
Read moreThis is an honest review of the food alone. I ordered the basics: a bean and cheese burrito and a carne asada quesadilla. The quesadilla ($12) was made up of a dry and flavorless flour tortilla wrapped around an anemic portion of steak, cheese, and pico, and cut into four strips. I ate 3 and had enough. The star of the show here was my bean and cheese burrito ($8). Where do I begin? The beans taste as if they were made batched about a week ago, frozen, then microwaved to order. The cheese I trust would have been a nice addition if it weren’t still cold and separated from the beans causing me to put this thing back in the bag after one bite. Add this to the fact that it was wrapped in the very same dry and flavorless flour tortilla that the quesadilla fell victim to, and we have ourselves a no-go. It’s hard to believe that with these prices, such basic staples could be so mediocre. There are plenty of good taquerias to try in the PHX area, but if you call this place your favorite, then it’s clear you’ve never been to...
