First time patron. Girl taking the counter orders was informed we had never been in before. I asked about the variety of pre-made pizzas available for slices. She displayed an attitude and said we always have the same variety. With no labels I guess she expected me to have ESP. Dining room was full of tables needing to be cleaned, floor was a disaster also. I asked if a table could be cleared so my party of 3 could sit. I was told to use napkins to wipe the table if it was needed. I asked about the used dishes and cups on the table and was told it would be OK if I wanted to move them to another dirty table. I counted 6 employees behind the counter, 4 of them just talking.
Salad arrived and I was pleased with the size, very plentiful. Lettuce was chilled and the dressing was OK. There was just a very limited amount of dressing provided. I asked for more dressing and was told "it will cost you". About half through the salad I was presented with a small container of dressing, but not the dressing I had ordered originally.
Pizza arrived in a reasonable time frame. It looked very appetizing and toppings ordered were plentiful. I ordered the pizza well done, extra crispy. I pulled the first slice and found the pizza dough was undercooked. Brought the pizza up to the counter to see if it could be placed back in the oven. Unfortunately there was no one at the counter. After three minutes I returned to the table where our party pulled the cheese and toppings off the undercooked crust and ate the cheese, meats and vegetables. We were just about to leave when an employee came from the back of house to stock the cups and napkins. She asked if we enjoyed the pizza. I told her of our undercooked crust. She responded we should have come to the counter to voice our concerns. Okay!
Sorry, I have no interest...
Read moreI have been going to this location since it opened a few years ago. Recently they added a happy hour after 8pm every day. 75% of the time you order this the staff over charges you. The sign is posted right next to the pizza counter with the pricing and the staff ( mostly high school age) cannot get the pricing right. Then when you point it out to them they can't correct it. I went there last night at a friends request - and again they overcharged me. I told the girl ( Anastasia) that the price was wrong she then disagreed that it was not I showed her the sign- (she works here and doesn't know what the specials are) after seeing the sign she still was not able to refund the overcharge she told me to call and speak to a manager to arrange for the refund. I called today and the GM was not in so I spoke to the Assistant manager ( first told me her name was Denise then Emily) . I explained that I would call back and speak to the GM, that I would not be returning as they cannot get their pricing straight and she said alright. That's it no concern, no I am sorry, no anything even close to a response you would expect from a service industry employee or someone that cared at all. Just alright. So for mediocre pizza that is cooked in an inpinger oven not a proper deck oven, for pricing that changes based on who waits on you and for management that doesn't seem to care Venenzia's North Phoenix on Tatum Blvd is...
Read moreVenezia's is a fantastic pizza place. They offer several different options including gluten free. One of our favorites is the pizza bowl - all the deliciousness of a pizza without the crust. It's great for anyone who is low-carb, keto or gluten-free. My one complaint about Venezia's is there chronic lack of consistency. Some days, the service is amazing with the order being great. Then other days (more than should be often), there are serious issues including completely wrong order, terrible pizza construction (poor quality, no cheese, burned, wrong ingredients, etc.), and of course, incomplete orders. When this has happened to us, we call and speak with the manager and the manager gives a couple of dollars back to you for your next purchase, but that shouldn't be the solution. There should be clear process changes geared at keeping customers rather than being reactive and just abating customers. There is a complete lack of quality control and that illustrates a much deeper problem - the employees don't care. Venezia's owners - please work with your employees. Ensure every piece of food that leaves your kitchen is up to YOUR standards...the kind of standards that you would expect when paying $40 for food. What's happening now is not acceptable. You have a great product but a horrible execution. Be better... you business and customers...
