Update: The manager reached out graciously and offered to remake our order that we just picked up today. Super redemption! The food was still hot as we did a pick up order to take out and drove it all the way home roughly 13 minutes. There was no mold on any of the food as i checked properly. Thank you again to all the workers and management for assisting us today.
Originally coming from socorro Texas and having whataburger on every corner I noticed this location was closest to where I was heading so I decided to stop by with my daughter and my husband. We ordered breakfast a fairly large order actually we spent close to 45 dollars here at this location we ordered 2 large breakfast burger whatameals, 2 honey butter chicken biscuits, 2 biscuits and gravy, and 1 small breakfast platter. Upon entering we noticed some of the employees sitting in the corner just talking it up with one another. One girl kept walking back and forth from the register worker and the worker sitting at the table in the corner. Estimated time for our order was roughly 10 minutes after placing the order but we waited and waited so I figured I would ask my husband to go check if maybe our order was ready and if we needed to let them know we were here. The lady at the register said it was almost ready so we waited and then the lady brought our food to the table we were seated. She asked if we needed anything else and I asked her if we could get some picante sauce to which she did bring to the table but then I noticed we didn't get our drinks so I relayed this to her and it was 1 large lemonade, 1 small and 1 large sprite. It took her close to 5 minutes just to bring our drinks back to the table which I thought was a bit too much we had already started eating our food. I opened my gravy and went to dip one of my hash browns in it when I noticed the gravy was COLD! Not even luke warm but my husband said his was warm. My daughter complained that her eggs were cold and her bacon was cold, I didn't bring it up to the workers because I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't busy and they had excess workers just talking standing around but I still am very understanding. The major issue I had was when I started to eat my breakfast burger, I took one bite and it was fairly good it wasn't hot was just warm but with the picante sauce it was again fairly good. My second bite though I noticed a green hinge on my bread so I inspected closer and for sure it was mold. I bit right into the moldy part of the bread. Now that was when I was incredibly insulted and disappointed. I got really sick to my stomach and couldn't finish my food. I told my husband and asked him to let them know what happened so he brought it to their attention and all they offered was our money back for the burger even though it was purchased in combo. Ive had really good customer service before but this was not it. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!! for others just be weary and check your food...
Read moreI was in Phoenix AZ for business, being from the East Coast I saw this as an opportunity to try Whataburger. I'm going to be fair, I got my food delivered by Uber Eats. They took 30 minutes to get the food to me even though the restaurant was 3 miles away. The food was still warm which was better than I expected. The fries didn't seem to have any salt on them. I was definitely disappointed in them. I didn't include them in my rating because of the 30 minute delay. . I had a Whataburger Cheeseburger with everything. With all of the Whataburger vs In & Out burger I assumed they were in competition with each other because they taste similar. Whataburger was a disappointment. It wasn't a bad burger. It was just a burger. There was nothing outstanding about it. It was a cheeseburger. If it would've been from any regular burger stand I wouldn't give it any notice. There was nothing wrong with it. I urge you to try one fresh in the restaurant but to me the meat patty tasted like any frozen premade patty. I will not go out of my way to visit a Whataburger but I won't avoid it either. I feel that due to the hype surrounding this burger franchise, I expected more. Would I recommend you make a special trip to try a Whataburger? Yes. I could've had a "meh" tasting burger but you could experience "Burger Nirvana". Please give it a try, I hope you enjoy...
Read moreWhataburger is a place that we don't have where I live so, like several other restaurants I've reviewed recently, I always try to eat at places I can't go when I'm around my own neck of the woods ( east-central Wisconsin ). The last time I ate at one of these restaurants was about 8 years ago when my son graduated from basic training and we were in Texas to see the graduation ceremony. I enjoyed it then and thought, since we were in Arizona, that I'd probably be able to have it again at some point in our trip. Well, that point was earlier today...and it was actually BETTER than I had remembered ! The employees that I dealt with were very friendly and accommodating, especially considering how many modifications my burger had ( see the attached picture of my receipt ). I eagerly scarfed down the burger and fries, getting a refill on my Coke before I left. When I was near the counter getting my drink refill, I told an employee how much I enjoyed the food and simultaneously giving her a thumbs up. She smiled and told me she was glad to hear that. On second thought, maybe it's good that I don't live in a state that has these restaurants...because I'd probably be eating at them way too...
