El Boca del Rio Restaurant — Restaurant in Pico Rivera

Here is my realistic feedback for this place. I am local and support local family businesses. It is ideal for all locals to support small businesses especially in the tough competitive family restaurant market.

I been here twice since it opened. I was told by my brother to check it out.

I visited one day in the evening, and it was empty and received the food on time including drinks.

Next couple weeks decided to bring my parents. I thought it would be a good idea for a Sunday afternoon.

But sadly I do regret bringing my elderly parents for 3 factors.

Place was not to busy and the service dragged... The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and when it did our orders were not together. Check on us was very seldom.

But the most disappointing part of it all... is what my Father and Mother witnessed was definitely unnecessary. One of the waitresses was sitting down drinking and soliciting beers from few clients. In other words, she will sit with each gentleman, they will buy themselves and beer and her a beer. Seems the technique was for conversation, but the end result was to sell more beer. She will casually roam the tables having random conversation to sell more beet. This made us very uncomfortable and were more in a hurry to leave.

I don't usually like to spend time to give negative feedback to family restaurants. There is always room for improvements. But on this occasion, this is close to home and if you going to start a business that welcomes families make sure you have some thought of holding up the integrity of your name and worry about your reputation before opening the doors to clientele.

I recommend the owner to be wise on what his future plans are to the keep the doors open. It is a competitive industry. We have choices and the word on the community can catch wind very quickly if this restaurant continues to use tacky ideas to...
