Our waitress was pleasant enough. We had fried chicken (was hot), fried squash (room temperature), macaroni (was ok, not truly warm but not quiet room temp), and the mashed potatoes were cold (after letting the waitress know, she took it upon herself--to take the dish of mashed potatoes to the back and put them in the microwave. First off that is a HUGE NO-NO. Even when they were brought back out, the dish was slightly warm but not the potatoes.) Half way through the meal still missing the biscuits we were told sorry we're out and brought rolls (mind you Half way through meal) and No refill on tea (never even an offer for more). Don't think we'll be back. I can not in good conscience recommend. Maybe it was newly staffed or something. Ps...Gordon Ramsey would've ripped this place a new one for taking food from the table back into the kitchen without it going straight into the trash. I've worked in the restaurant industry in the past, I knew this was a no-no and was in awe at seeing they were the same potatoes removed from the table. Needless to say the bowl of mashed potatoes was left uneaten. If you do try Cousin Gary's I hope you have a much better experience. Maybe this review will shed light on some issues that should & need to...
Read moreWe have never eaten here. Me and my wife decided to give it a try and see how it is. Wait staff is very friendly and was attennitive to our needs. Restaurant is clean. But that's where it stops. Food sucks. With it being 9:00 am we figured breakfast buffet would be good but it was not. Biscuits where very dry, gravy would hold it's shape and not move at all. Bacon was decent. I was very disappointed. So I figured i would just eat some fruit. All the fruit on buffet was canned items. Desserts where pre packaged items from Sam's club, and I know this because I buy the same things at Sam's. It must suck to have to unwrap them to put on the buffet. If I wanted pre packaged food I would have bought it elsewhere, not at a restaurant. For $18 My wife had some grits which where ok she said but there syrup was wattered down and did not have very much flavor at all. There was only two other tables with customers at them, that should have been a dead giveaway that the food was not very good because they weren't busy at all. I don't know if I would have ordered food if it would have been different but we will not be going back to give it...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant not really sure what to expect. Upon entering there was no other patrons in the restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the waitress. My partner looked at the breakfast buffet and the owner came out and greeted us. We were told upon entering that the breakfast was out now but lunch would be out soon. We both grabbed small plates as we were really wanting lunch. The waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted anything else from the breakfast buffet and we said no. I asked if we were going to be able to get something off of the lunch buffet. The waitress said she would ask. Hesitantly the waitress came back and told us that we would have to be charged again. The owner Debbie came out. As her employees asked her questions she was very snappy with them. By this time the restaurant started filling up with patrons. Debbie did not seem friendly to her employees. The one waitress that we saw did an excellent job of waiting tables and attending to the cash register. I hope that Debbie starts to show some gratitude towards her employees and...
