There are about half a dozen Boba shops in Pinellas Park, so when I heard of Moonlight Boba I was skeptical, but definitely wanted to give it a try. Since Moonlight Boba is about a 25-30 minute drive from Largo/Indian Rocks area I skimmed Google Reviews before deciding to make the trip. There was a guy who said he had been to 25 shops and this was the best. I trusted his opinion and boy was he right.
Most other Boba shops in the area make their drinks frozen or from a powder base and they all sort of are the same with atmosphere and food offerings being the only thing to distinguish each. The powder base drinks often taste generic and really artificial.
From my understanding, Moonlight Boba makes all or most of their Boba drinks from fresh brewed loose leaf teas. We tried 3 different Bobas: Chocolate, Milk Tea, and Mango. I had never tried Milk Tea before and did so for the first time based off of a review recommendation. WOW! It was delicious! Now, I always want Milk Tea. The flavor was fresh and you could really taste the authentic tea flavor come through and the sweetness and non-dairy cream balanced it very well. The Chocolate was delicious with a real rich Chocolate flavor. The Mango was good, I added the Dolphin jellies to make it fun. Normally I like fruity things, but the Mango was far too sweet for me. Milk Tea was definitely my favorite Boba. Can't wait to try more :)
The atmosphere was very clean which I hope they maintain as some other Boba shops in the area are straight up filthy the minute you walk in. It was also inviting and cozy. They have a farm style table for large groups or individuals who want to share space, a few lounge chairs where people were using their laptops, and a couple booths.
Their food was very good. We had the pork Bahn Mi and the Beef & Egg Noodle dish. The Bahn Mi was made with a fresh crusty bread and ingredients that tasted fresh and authentic. It was one of the better Bahn Mi's I have had in the area. The Beef & Egg Noodle dish was also very good and I will...
Read moreThey got our food wrong and than refused to switch out our meal for the right one we want because we took one bite from the meal than realized that it was the wrong order. The guy even told us that we had to keep it because we ate one bite from the plate making it to where they couldn't give it to anyone else. Basically telling us it is our fault for eating one bite from it because they can't turn around and give someone else that same plate of food. Refusing to even give us the right food still or even a refund to where we feel basically force to eat this meal now. They were giving us attitude as well and talking down to us when all we wanted was just to trade it out for the right meal we wanted. This place basically will recycle meals from customers to give to other customers even though that is completely wrong and disguising that no place should be just taking one plate from someone's table and give it to someone else at a different table and act like it is fresh made from the kitchen when someone else touch the plate and all. Never will...
Read moreA friend introduced me to this place and now I go there regularly, but was quite disappointed during my last visit. I order the same item every time , but didn’t pay much attention to the price- come to find out that they charge more if you ask for little or no ice for the boba drinks - that was the FIRST I have ever heard of that and I eat out often and regularly. The reasoning I was given when I asked about it from the girl behind the counter was that they had to compensate for the less ice with more product. I was like wow ! !! Asking for extra ice will make the price less ? Maybe that’s a question I will ask should I go back there again. In any case , they should have been more transparent with their pricing if that’s the case. I hope whoever runs the business will see this post objectively from a customer’s perspective. Other than this incident - it’s a...
