My recent visit to the food truck company prompted by its online acclaim and appealing food visuals, turned out to be quite different from what I had anticipated. While I value the effort behind any local business, I believe it’s important for potential visitors, especially families, to be fully informed about their dining choices. Here’s an honest take on my experience.
Unique Setup and Accommodations: Located near a bar, The food truck company requires patrons to use the bar for restrooms and drinks, with exceptions made for food truck customers. While this arrangement is accommodating, it adds complexity, particularly for families with young children.
Hygiene and Operational Observations: During our visit, it was apparent that a single person managed all tasks, from food preparation to handling payments. This raises concerns about food safety and hygiene, especially since gloves were not changed between tasks. Additionally, the absence of napkins and the provision of flimsy utensils detracted from the overall dining experience.
Food Quality and Freshness: The quality of certain items, such as sweet plantains and egg rolls, was disappointing as they appeared to be pre-frozen rather than freshly prepared. This aspect significantly affected the authenticity of the food experience.
Dining Experience and Seating: Despite visiting during peak hours, we were the only customers, highlighting the limited seating options. While common for food trucks, this, along with the other issues faced during our visit, impacted the overall enjoyment of the experience.
In sharing this feedback, our aim is to provide an honest perspective for families considering a visit to The food truck company Addressing hygiene practices, ensuring the availability of dining essentials, and improving the freshness of certain items could greatly enhance the...
Read moreIf you are in St Pete, this place is a MUST try!!!! Soooo delicious & affordable!! Went with a friend to check it out & between the two of us we got: 1 chicken hibachi dinner (10/10, veryy generous serving size, big enough portion to split between 2 people & could’ve had leftovers but it was just too tasty!!) (also must get fried rice + lo mein combination- YUM!), we each got our own roll (I did cheeseburger- 10/10 & my friend did buffalo chicken- 10/10), then each got our own dessert roll (I got apple pie- 1000/10 literally soooo good & my friend got the s’mores- 100/10 chocolatey & marshmallowy goodness all in one). So all of that for a grand total of $31…. Like are you kidding me?!! The price is unbeatable!!! We also only waited about 15-18 minutes for everything to come out.. with a door dash & in person order ahead of us when we ordered… unreal!! Shoutout to the solo worker of the night, Thad, for being so great & whipping us up some bomb late night grub!!! I will definitely be back because my friend & I didn’t even let each other try our personal rolls, they were just that good to make us selfish lol. Lastly, as someone who is busy from morning until 9-10pm, I very much appreciate this place being open late hours even during the week so that people like me can have a tasty & affordable option for dinner! Everyone go check them out, you won’t be...
Read moreMy first experience with Fat Dawgs I ordered a 12" Philly and had my fries done Texas style and a Tha Shrimp Basket. In total My food was about $30. The Philly and fries were great, the Thai shrimp on the other hand were a bit disappointing. Description said Fried shrimp tossed in sweet Thai chili sauce, but it was more like a basic shrimp basket with a side of sweet chili sauce. My second experience wasn't to pleasant. I came back and got the Korean BBQ wings and a 12" Philly with fries. What really did it for me was that I watched them put a plate up. And I wondered if that was mine but my buzzer didn't go off. After I waited for almost 30 min it was my food sitting there. It had gotten cold. The Korean BBQ wings were kinda weak. And they had forgot my fries. I jad already driven 20 minutes home. Was not about to go back after my 14 hr shift. Decided to give them another go and had a better experience. Bit still too pricey. I spent almost $30 each time...
