It is a deli place with good boba drinks I go to this place 1 or 2 x per week. If you are new to vietnamese food, then Banh Mi and Boba are safe bets. I am from California, and would say Banh Mi is very comparable or even better than California or Saigon. I like the special kind. Boba drinks are fantastic. I don't drink these a lot due not knowing what type of powder they mix in there. I usually drink the fresh types. They cost a little bit more. However, I love authentic and distinctive dishes such as Mi Quang ( a regional dish from Da Nang with yellow broad noodle with marinated pork, boiled egg). In addition, Banh Beo ( mini rice pancake with shrimp flakes) serving with mixed fish sauce, Banh Bot Loc ( similar to steam shrimp potstickers made from Tapioca Powder , serving with mixed fish sauce) ( from the region of Hue, an ancient capital of Vietnam). They have specials on the weekends. Recently, they added new goodies such as vietnamese style yogurt with passion fruit juice.I drink coffee here too but it is quite sweet and fat for me. Note the sizes of the dishes are small compare to other vietnamese restaurants. In addition, they are more expensive. However, it is very clean and consistent quality. Always good presentation. Similar to Japanese restaurants. Staff members speak good English. They just opened a new sister place, La V in downtown st pete. I tried that several times but they cater mostly to...
Read moreI’m ashamed. I’m ashamed of myself for coming to this gem of a family owned Vietnamese restaurant for 3 years and never writing a review.
I’m ashamed that I have enjoyed more than a hundred of their grilled shrimp banh mi and have never shared just how amazingly delicious it truly is.
This is such a wonderful restaurant tucked away in Pinellas Park. There are plenty of places to sit and eat or you can take the food to go!
I always get the grilled shrimp banh mi sandwich and it’s perfect. Literally, impeccable. They toast the bread so perfectly so that the outside is crunchy and the inside is soft and warm. The carrots, jalapeño, cilantro and everything else is nothing short of being incredibly fresh. Everything about this sandwich tastes like it was just plucked from a garden, washed and placed inside.
They have delicious fresh juices that my friends and family who’ve I’ve brought here in the past really enjoyed it. Their boba tea is on point, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t really care much for boba tea.
Last, and certainly not least, is the service. This family owned place always greets everyone with a smile and are incredibly helpful with giving different suggestions for those indecisive customers 😉
Overall, this place is one of my go to spots and if you haven’t already looked up directions on Google Maps, then you’re...
Read moreDo not be intimidated to try this place! It is modest from the outside, sitting in a zero personality strip mall, but the inside is cheerful and both meals I've had are the best Vietnamese food I've experienced in the US. I had the #1 bahn mi sandwich for lunch and it was delicious and a perfect portion. The bun bo hue is one of the best soups I've ever had. I measure all soups by how they compare to authentic ramen, which is my favorite type of soup. Bun bo hue is spicy, a little sweet in the best way, savory, umami, and loaded with meat and crunchy veg for awesome textures. It hits all of your taste buds to the bottom of the large bowl! We just moved to this area and are going to be regulars...
