First off I wanted to say that a smile goes a long way. No one there, the whole staff did not smile at us (me and my son). The food was cold and nasty, The beans and rice clumpy because it was cold. The chips were hard and greasy. The Salsa was watery and bitter. We spent over 100.00 there and the waitress didn't look me in the eye once. I always smile and am cheerful towards others, but no one deserves to be treated like we were. If that is authentic Mexican food it was horrible. It's a bit too dark in there, needs more lighting. Music is a bit too loud. We went at 3 pm in the afternoon, there was only 2 other tables they were waiting on. They were not busy at all. Therefore the food should have been cooked properly. There seems to be nothing on the menu that isn't spicy or have some kind of heat to it. The menu doesn't specify either way. It looks fancy but is quite dreary when no one there is even trying to be nice or friendly. Nice looking plates do not make a "Dish" taste good. Even the tortillas was too dry. We don't drink alcohol so I can not review that. Me and my son doesn't go out much, so when we do, we want to have fun, relax, and be in a friendly atmosphere. That being combined with the unpleasant food and rude people gave us a bad taste and experience...we do not recommend Cayefuego. Save your money and go to Los Portales where the music is just right, the food is always delicious, and the people smile and actually "work" hard for their tips. We will never...
Read moreI normally don't post reviews too often, this one was bad enough to warrant it. I'll keep it brief. The only good part of this restaurant is the decor. I liked the lighting, it wasn't too harsh and and the noise level was okay. The fake plants and vapor thing was neat. As far as the service goes, it wasn't very busy so the lack of service was unexpected. The waitress barely stayed long to even get the order in. She didn't communicate very much in terms of discussing the menu or making recommendations. That part wasn't so much of an issue as was the unreasonably lengthy amount of time it took in between trips and just to pay for the food once we were done. Speaking of the food if was actually really bad. The enchiladas were so underseasoned and far too dry. It was as if the chicken was boiled in plain water for far too long, dried out and wrapped in the tortilla. Not a speck of pepper could be seen. The overall attempt at flavor was very reminiscent of a t.v. dinner that sat out too long. I'm normally very forgiving when it comes to taste, not everyone's is the same. But, this in no way justified the hefty price tag. Naturally, we still ate what we ordered, because we don't waste food. However even after eating, we left hungrier than when we arrived. Next time we will be bypassing this one until the 'Ooh, look what's new here' sensational phase has passed and we can hope they make some adjustments to increase the...
Read moreLong post alert! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. The ambiance was refined yet inviting—perfect for a relaxed evening or a special celebration. What stood out immediately was the lighting: soft, warm, and thoughtfully placed to enhance the overall mood without being too dim or harsh. It created an intimate and cozy environment that elevated the dining experience from the start.
What truly impressed me was the attention to detail throughout the space. Every element, from the table settings to the arrangement of the decor, felt deliberate and well-curated. It’s clear that a great deal of care went into crafting an environment that complements the culinary experience.
And then came the highlight of the evening: the steak, prepared by none other than Mr. Donnell. Simply put, it was the most tender and juicy steak I’ve had in a long time. Cooked to absolute perfection, it was rich in flavor, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and expertly seasoned. Each bite was a testament to Mr. Donnell’s skill and passion for his craft. It’s rare to find a steak that leaves such a lasting impression, but this one truly set a new standard.
In short, this was more than just a meal—it was an experience. Between the serene atmosphere, the thoughtful details, and Mr. Donnell’s unforgettable steak, I left already planning my next visit. Highly...
