I get to travel a three-state area weekly with my work and anyone who has seen my reviews realize I like meat dishes and very seldom give perfect scores, but tonight November 2024 I just ate at a Cajun restaurant in Pineville Louisiana that knocked my socks off. Quebedeaux's Cajun Cafe close to Walmart in Pineville is probably the best tasting food and service that I have had at the end of this year. I didn't even look at the menu as soon as I saw Thursday night steak night special and immediately asked which steak is most preferred and of course the answer is what a person likes, and for me the most flavorful steak will always win. It was the ribeye, cooked a perfect medium with a wonderful char all the way around, and the fat strip through the middle was wonderfully charred and all I can say is... Yum. It comes with two sides and I got the grilled squash and cream spinach. Hold on, let me back the truck up, my waitress name was Tineeica, And I asked her what is the most flavorful appetizer and she quickly said chicken cracklins, so That's what I got And in order for two I scarfed every single one of them down and then made sure every bit of the crumbs was off the plate. About the time I sat back and said dang I'm almost full My steak arrived and when I cut it down the center and cut the first centerpiece out I just looked at the waitress and gave a big thumbs up and commenced to enjoy every single bite of that steak. Now for anyone who does not like fat in their steak probably you should choose the sirloin but for me I can easily say this is the best restaurant steak I have had this year. And the crazy part is the steak special on Thursday nights is 18.99 Cracklins were $12 and I drank water so I had a wonderful meal that was $35.11. oh yeah I almost forgot The cream spinach was good and the squash was also good but after eating a whole bowl of chicken cracklins, licking the bowl and then eating every single piece of that steak and the juice that was left behind, I was done. I will be back in February/March with my CMA motorcycle group and will definitely bring the ride group there for supper. If you live anywhere around a 45 minute to hour drive would be acceptable for a good dinner outing. Now understand this isn't a suit and tie establishment but more like going down the road to your great grandparents house and having dinner old style. Every table had somebody at it so I couldn't get a photograph of their table setups but it's very brilliant as the simple heavy wooden tables are on rollers, so I can already understand at closing they wipe the tables, put the chairs on the tables unlock the wheels and roll the tables out of the way to mop the floor, which already tells me the owners are about simple easy and effective cleaning, the quicker they can mop down the whole restaurant, the better it is on labor cost. I didn't ask about oils as I usually do so I can't say what is used in their cooking methods, if I came back I probably would ask. As a person who is trying to stay heavy keto leaning toward carnivore I would say this could be a great option restaurant especially if you could avoid vegetable oils. Now after glancing at other people's tables I realize it's obvious the fried dishes are the local norm, I saw a few steaks but most people were all about the fried dishes so I'm sure that's all really good too. I highly recommend the steak on Thursdays, and I am positive if I lived close I would be here at least one or two times a month if not more, that's how much I like this place. Great service, fantastic food, easy to get to location, clean establishment, friendly workers all at a modest price, this is a five-star to...
Read moreMan I really want to love this place but they keep letting me down unfortunately! I started going to this location at the beginning of this year, and my first impression I fell in love. The food was much better than I expected and the staff was very friendly. During a later visit, I got a to go order and found a hair in my chicken and sausage gumbo. The manager took care of it during our next visit. My fiance and I went in another time for some dine in and had a really rough experience. My fiancé was done with her meal before I ever got mine fixed and although they offered to discount it I insisted on paying full price if they would just please make it right, and they did. On one of my next visits, I ordered one burger and a beer and after 15 minutes still didn’t have a drink, at this point frustrated with the place, I got up and left. I talked to the manager Jeremy who said they would be happy to fix us up should we give them another shot. They recently “upgraded” their menu and dropped some of their prices, so we ordered to go for dinner. And I found out why they changed the menu and prices….my double burger was not the same burger I had in the past which are my favorite thing on the menu….as soon as I got home I could clearly see they changed the size of the burger, the buns, and I’m certain they are a different frozen patty now. I’ve told so many people that this place has the best burgers in town, and now it looks like they have gotten rid of the quality ingredients that I fell in love with. This burger was $13 and it was one of the worst burgers I’ve had in town. Now, I just really can’t keep going back because it’s always something with the staff, the lack of service, and now the quality of food. When I started going they had the best burgers, calamari, and crab cakes I had found in a long time…now with the constant issues and changes it’s like you really never know what you are gonna get, but in my experience, it just gets worse and worse; which is extremely disappointing for a place that seemed to have it down right not even a year ago. You can’t even get fresher brewed tea anymore. And the burger I thought was buying tonight was not what I actually expected to be spending my money on. Really feel like I’ve been ripped off and wasted my time giving them so many chances....
Read moreI have eaten here several times. The service has always been excellent as is the food. This was the first time I ate at the Quebedeaux’s in Pineville on a Sunday. They had three tables of approximately twenty people at each table, in addition to the rest of the restaurant. Two of the tables had been reserved which meant they knew they were going to have a lot of people to serve. We waited approximately ten minutes to get drinks. The waitress had to wait on the three two of the three large tables plus a booth and our table. Other than delivering the drinks and taking our order we never saw her again. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. Other waiters came by to check on us. After approximately 45 minutes I saw the waiter deliver two appetizers to two tables that came in after us. The very same appetizer we had been waiting 45 minutes for. I asked about it and received a confusing answer that the ticket was “dropped”. They said we would receive the appetizer of seafood balls shortly. They then brought my entree of fried fish and shrimp but not my husband’s hamburger. After about five minutes my husband told the waitress to just cancel the order for his burger. When I asked about the appetizer about ten minutes later she said she cancelled it because my husband said he didn’t want it. I told her that was incorrect, he had only cancelled the burger. I asked her if I could have the appetizer for free due to the confusion. She said, “He want do that because it was cancelled.” I asked to speak to the manager. He never showed up. The “lead worker” stopped by and we again asked to speak to the manager. He never showed up. We asked the waitress again and she said, “He says he is too busy.” When you are too busy to correct a problem with service you have a big problem. Evidently they don’t have a kitchen big enough to accommodate the restaurant when it is full. But yet they are in the process of building a banquet room that will seat 50 people. WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. WORSE SERVICE EVER. THE “MANAGER” OBVIOUSLY ALSO THE CHEF. EITHER THAT OR HE IS JUST TOO LAZY TO COME AND TALK TO HIS CUSTOMERS. ONE ENTREE AND TWO DRINKS COST US $36.03 PLUS APPROXIMATELY $1.30 FOR USING A CARD TO PAY. FOR THAT PRICE SERVICE SHOULD BE AT...
