Came here in a party of 3 for lunch. We really enjoyed the delicious food and complimentary chai. Service was a bit lacking but our whole experience was good.
Service was ok but I feel this was the one downfall of our meal. The waitress was not very warm, she didn't greet us or start the dining experience with a hello and welcome. She was also timid which made us feel a bit uncomfortable for her. They were very attentive to our table but shy and standoff-ish. Food was amazing! We enjoyed a classic Buttered Chicken and Lamb Coconut Curry with garlic and butter naan and rice. Awesome food! I crave it even now while I write this. Atmosphere was good. Spacious and clean. We were there at a quiet time but it seems well laid out for the busy hours. Drinks weren't comprehensive and I didnt notice too many options but that doesn't seem like a big deal for a place like this. What I REALLY enjoyed was the chai. It's a great touch to offer this complimentary service and I've only seen it in a few Indian restaurants. Really appreciated it. Prices were good and very reasonable. Portions seemed standard for what we've seen elsewhere and prices were good. Especially given the quality of food.
Would definitely go again if craving Indian food. Give it a shot if you're...
Read moreCame with no expectations on a work trip. Very pleasantly surprised with food. Brihyani, korma, and Naan were all excellent, but in a very different way. Instead of the traditional onion Naan with carmalized /cooked onions, this one had very lightly cooked red onions inside, which provided a nice bite to wrap the juicy pieces of lamb korma in. The Brihyani was very flavorful, but I was initially turned off by a few large pieces of some hard inedible root or spice. This only lasted until I realized that these spice chunks were what were responsible for the elevated flavors in the dish. I immidately overcame the initial discomfort and proceeded to thoroughly enjoy the rest of my dinner. PS, never been to another Indian restaurant where I can get a Naan, a large plate of chicken Brihyani, and a lamb korma for 33 dollars,...
Read moreAbsolutely excellent meal! We usually go to Indian restaurant in Berkeley but wanted to try something closer to home. We got the samosas, chicken momo, chicken tikka masala, goat curry and the butter naan.
The goat curry was one of the most flavorful dishes we’ve had in a long time. The meat comes on the bone so expect a little bit of work but it’s well worth it for the flavor. Extremely rich, flavorful, and spicy. Chicken momo is also worth calling out as a must have. Odd yet true, but the water was surprisingly pure and fresh. Don’t know the last time a restaurant’s water caught my attention for a good reason. Overall a surprisingly great meal with a nice view.
Service was wonderful and all the food came out hot. Definitely our new favorite local Indian spot and we’re already looking forward...
