Uncle Chung — Restaurant in Pinole

Ordered for take-out: Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, and Sauteed String Beans.

Speed of service: less than 10 minutes? Which makes me think, how could they cook these three items so quickly?!

Quality of dishes: String Beans - bland; could use black bean sauce and black fungus? Mongolian Beef - lacking on the BEEF! Low quality precooked frozen beef; lacking the 🔥, too sweet; lots of onions to replace the beef... There really was minimal amount of beef, mostly scraps of it. The scraps of beef used is the same kind of "beef" they use in Chinese fast-food places where they're not hiding the fact that the food is already precooked and on top of chafing dishes. Fried Rice - dry but moist from steam?; lacking color, meat, eggs; makes me think it was pre-cooked and put in a chafing dish to keep warm.

Conclusion: Just moved to Pinole, was hoping to find a good cooked-to-order Chinese place....

Unfortunately we ordered takeout from this location and the people were nice. They told me that they are slow and haven’t had business this summer. I can see why after trying their food. Once I got home, my family and I opened the food and the Mongolian beef did not taste or smell like Mongolian beef. It’s the wrong texture and it smelled off. Also, the orange chicken was not an orange chicken as it smelled spoiled or off. The sweet-and-sour sauce taste very different and it burns. Almost like it’s also spoiled. They also forgot to add the steamed rice that we had ordered. This is by far one of the worst Chinese foods I’ve had. The wontons are so dry and small. Wow I've been to a plethora of authentic Chinese restaurant's around the Bay Area, and in no way am I trying to be mean but this place is one of the worst I've ever tried in my life. The Chinese food here was absolutely horrible, there was no taste in any of the dishes we bought, and the food was just sloppily made. I guess the people that live in this area are easy to fool into thinking their good Chinese food, but this place doesn't come close. If you want real authentic Chinese food go to the one's in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco has the best Chinese Restaurant's in the Bay Area.
