The Food Architects — Restaurant in Piscataway Township

We got catering from The Food Architects for a party at Spotted Leaf Co in Somerville (see my other review for details) and it was, without a doubt, the BEST choice we could have made for food! ❤️ Samantha was so great to work with. She helped us build a custom menu for our event, which required food that could be easily eaten during a "paint-n-sip" (except it was a "plant-n-sip" 🌱🍷) style event for 20 people, in addition to some dietary restrictions.

Our guests RAVED about the food! 🔥 We expected it to be good based on the reviews here, but it wasn't just good - it was PHENOMENAL!! 👏👏👏 Everything -even something as simple as the chips- were SO good and our guests couldn't get enough. We brought takeout containers with us and between that and the actual dining at our party, there were pretty much no leftovers at the end because nobody wanted to miss out lol! I almost want to reorder our exact menu again just for us, just so we can taste everything all over again 😂

The day of our event was kind of hectic so I regrettably didn't get any good photos of the food itself, but you can check out my video to get a peek! This was for 20 guests and it was perfectly portioned. We had salads, sandwiches, empanadas and samosas, mac & cheese, and probably more that I'm currently forgetting.

One heads up for Sunday events: Because our event was on a Sunday and they are usually closed on Sundays, we made a special arrangement for us to pick up the food in advance and prepare some of it on our own on the day of. They provided all the necessary accessories (trays, holders, burners) and Samantha wrote out accurate instructions for the items that needed heat & prep. We followed it the best we could, and it turned out excellent! The extra work was completely worth it.

My now-husband and I decided to postpone our original wedding plans and have a micro-wedding with just our immediate families at my parents’ house amid everything happening with COVID. My mom reached out to The Food Architects to see if they would be willing and able to cater our small gathering. With less than two weeks notice, Samantha put together the most amazing menu for our micro-wedding. She asked me a few questions about my likes and dislikes and nailed my palate on the spot. On the day of, the Food Architects delivered the food on time, piping hot. The delivery gentleman also assisted in rearranging some of the outdoor furniture to create a space where the food could be served from. We had the field greens salad with pecans, cranberries, mandarin oranges, grape tomatoes, cucumber and red onion with feta on the side and a balsamic vinaigrette, the farro salad, mini chicken and beef empanadas, southwestern jumbo shrimp, rosemary and lemon glazed chicken breast, blackened salmon with a tomato and avocado relish, and southern style pulled pork. This is the caterer for you! Anthony and his team are absolutely phenomenal for so many reasons. The food was so amazing people were texting my husband and I for days after the wedding. I HIGHLY recommend the salmon, BBQ pulled pork, and the potatoes. People could NOT stop talking about the Salmon. Not only did they provide amazing food, but they were the kindest people ever. They helped my servers and Brian got my bouquet for me right before I was about to be announced as he could see the stress on my face lol. They are a small business who also helped people throughout the pandemic. Besides the food, it was so refreshing to get a personal call back after the event and to hear the wonderful things this small business does. You will NOT regret working with these amazing people. They are terrific inside and out and they have gained customers for as long as they are around.
