This is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. I heard about this place, but never tried before. I had the opportunity last Sunday to entertain my friends in Edison(15 families of about 60 people) with food freshly made from Persis Biryani.
I requested them to deliver both South Indian and North Indian platters(Thali and lunch box) with customized menu (mild to moderate spicy) to satisfy both North Indian and South Indian palette.
They delivered the food packed tightly in a very presentable and Hygienic boxes Nan individually wrapped in aluminum foils, sambar, rasam, curds and pickle in small containers including carry on bags and disposable cutlery.
Due to heavy snow it was difficult to deliver on time. With few minutes delay they managed almost on time.
The food was exceptionally delicious and very palatable.
These are not only my words, but all the 15 families provided the same feedback and were inquiring me about who made and catered the food. Looks like children also liked the food and were asking for more.
Personally the highlight was their vegetable “BIRYANI “, palak paneer and GONGURA pickle. Not to forget their RASAM. Vada was also very good. I will not be doing justice, if I don’t mention their bread(Naan).
I am going to explore more in coming weeks by ordering various South Indian and North Indian menu items from Persis Biryani and their sister organization “Indian House of Dosa”.
I highly recommend these two places for the lovers of Indian food.
I will update this review or write a separate review after I explore other menu items at a future date.
Please go ahead and try for yourself. “BONAPETITE”
Finally I must mention about their professionalism and hospitality. I don’t want to mention any names, but both management management, staff and delivery services exceed...
Read moreWe visited Persis Biryani Indian Grill for lunch, and everything we ordered was superbly delicious and mouthwatering. We tried the chicken rice biryani, boneless chicken rice biryani, and goat biryani, along with a couple of meat appetizers. Each dish was packed with flavor, and the spices were just right—rich, aromatic, and satisfying.
The only downside was that we arrived around 2:45 PM, and the kitchen was closed, reopening at 6:00 PM. That was a bit of a disappointment, but Guru, who provided exceptional service, made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. He ensured that we were enjoying our meals and gave us great recommendations. We couldn’t wait to return when the kitchen was open and explore more of their mouthwatering entrees.
A few days later, we came back for dinner (I forgot to take pictures of our meals) and had a much wider selection to choose from. We ordered a variety of dishes and were completely happy and satisfied with everything. The food was just as flavorful and fresh as before. I highly recommend Persis Biryani Indian Grill—it’s definitely worth the visit!
Bonus: ♿️ Accessibility is no issue here as it’s located on the ground floor, making it easy for everyone to enjoy.

Read moreI just ordered a Paneer Biryani MILD & it’s the worst I’ve had. I usually go to only two places in the entire NJ state, but since this place is close to my work, I figured I’ll give them a try again (mind you the first time was just as bad, today reminded me why I don’t go to them) They simply missed the point of MILD spice level, and I know Indian food tends to be spicy, but I’ve been to places that actually understand when I say MILD or they simply don’t offer it unlike Persis. The paneer in this biryani were very few, and cardboard like. I never quite understood when people called paneer cardboard like but now I know. They were not soft and juicy at all, infact they were very hard to bite/cute with spoon and bright red/orange in color. (Food color for sure) Biryani tasted like plain rice, honestly with a little bit of salt and lemon. And so did the raita, very watery and not the best. All in all, I wish I could take that 1 star from them too, it’s not worth it. Two places I highly recommend for good biryani in all of NJ
