So we are transplants from Southern California and live locally. The day after Christmas my spouse and I decided to buy our relatives lunch before their travels. We called restaurant and ordered over $200 worth of food. When getting home approximately 30 min drive, we realized after opening containers and bags of food that 2 of the dishes ordered did not come with sweet and sour sauce, we did not know/advised that restaurant separates sauce from SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN AND PORK, both of these dishes ordered and no sauce to stir in, restaurant FORGOT to put in food order. I called back to advise and they did not give me an appropriate solution. After 2nd phone call I spoke to one of the owners and I asked for a refund of both dishes. I explained the dish was hard and dry without sauce. We could not eat either dish, much to hard. He said yes. We went back yesterday for dinner and explained at beginning of dinner that we had credit, no issues at the time. At end of meal owner, same guy I spoke to said that he said he would only credit for cost of sauce (5 dollars) 😂 we ended up paying for the dinner but will NO LONGER BE MONTHLY CUSTOMERS. The food is ok. It’s a...
Read moreChristmas fail. Ordered food at six, and were told it would be ready at 8:30. We arrive at the appointed time, only to be met with a roomful of displeased people that had been there waiting for at least an hour. Our food order hadn’t even made it to the kitchen…the staffer couldn’t even give us a guesstimate of how much longer we might have to wait. Mind you, they weren’t serving today, takeout only. They were already running out of some of the dishes, and we had no idea of when (if ever) when we would get our Christmas dinner far from home.
Luckily, we had purchased some frozen pot pies, and I knew we could be eating not long after 10:00, but some folks were going to be eating vending machine snacks for Christmas (Hope they don’t have kids).
They had everyone’s phone numbers. They should have started at the back of the list, and let people know that they couldn’t be sure they could fill their order. It was chaos in there, and seemed quite...
Read moreVery disappointed. We had just driven up from the fire areas in LA for a getaway in Pismo and look forward to a great dinner from our favorite Chinese restaurant, Mei’s in Shell Beach. We didn’t order much. Scallops and snow, peas, shrimp fried rice, and war wonton soup. In the past everything has been wonderful, but this time the snow, peas and scallops was mostly water chestnuts, Fewer than usual snow, peas, and scallops that looked unrecognizable and tasted very mediocre. The shrimp fried rice was subpar, and the war wonton soup was good, but not outstanding. Usually when we order from this restaurant, we are wowed by the quality of the food. Not this time. This was Sunday, 12 January in the evening. Perhaps it was not the regular chef. We would have eaten there several times in the week we spent in Pismo. But chose to go elsewhere for the rest of the week. Hope things go back to normal...
