Sando's Deli — Restaurant in Pismo Beach

Located on the corner of Shell Beach Rd. and Esparto Ave. 5 space parking lot on the side and also street parking. This deli shop is small, but does have a couple of tables inside and some outside. You place your order by filling out a paper at the counter with your order selection & your name. I knew ahead of time what I wanted because I searched their menu. I had their 'Ever Roast Chicken' which is made on a Dutch Crunch Roll with slices on chicken, mayo, dijon, tomato, onion, lettuce, and bacon. They were out off bacon during my visit, bummer, so I had no choice but to try the sandwich without it. The bread was fresh, soft and an excellent choice for this sandwich. It was the perfect size and simply delicious. I was obsessed with it, I can only imagine if it had the bacon in it! Service was great, very welcoming, fast and efficient. Friendly place with Boar's Head cold cuts on sandwiches. They also have both local beer & cider on tap. While they have minimal seating inside or out, they are really oriented for take-out to the beach. Please note that you are not allowed to take the alcohol on the beach, nor liter. Their prices are slightly better than Del Palo's down the road, but do not have the plethora of breads, homemade choices, nor late hours.

If you have an urge for a quick bite with a tapped beverage, this is the place.

There is something about the bread here that is so good and satisfying to eat. There was a little wait for the food, but when you get to relax in the sunshine, the ocean breeze, and how chill and tranquil this area of Pismo was, waiting is a non-issue. I love that during the weekdays, Pismo is not crowded with cars piling up along the streets like so many other beach areas in California. Perfect and peaceful spot to have a delicious sandwich. I got the Kirby's Special that had roast beef and turkey. The ingredients themselves were fresh but it was the crispy and awesome tasting bread that really put it all together for me.
