IHOP — Restaurant in Pittsburg

When we came in, there was no wait so we were seated right away. The lady took our order. She brought my sons plate back first then my plate took an additional 20 minutes. She brought my omelette out first I waited on my pancakes to come another 20 minutes when The family that came 15 minutes after us order her pancakes were brought out to her first. Remind you they were a Hispanic family and they were talking Spanish, laughing and stuff so I stopped her and asked her well. How did she get their pancakes when I’ve been waiting 20 minutes for mines and they came after us all she said was my bad then it took her an additional 10 minutes to bring me some pancake by that time my omelette was cold then I asked her for some pecan syrup and she tells me you have to request that we don’t put that on the table. It was another family sitting there waiting that had not even been handed a menu and they were sitting there a good 20 minutes then she says oh did you guys order and they said no we don’t even have a menu mind you they were an African-American family as well. Then another African-American families were waiting also so the manager finally decided to come out and help so I’m not sure if it was a racist thing or poor customer service or not enough staffing but three of the families waiting were African-American so I won’t be going back there anytime soon. Absolutely horrible. My mom and I both ordered eggs over medium and were both served eggs with broken yolks with my yolk cooked hard. When I sent my eggs back the waiter argued that I wanted mine over easy since I wanted runny yolks, even after my mom and I BOTH explained over medium means Solid Whites and Runny yolks!! We had to ask for syrup for the pancakes 3xs. The 3rd time was by asking for the manager. So by the time we got syrup our pancakes were ice cold. After all this you would think the MANAGER would make sure our eggs came out correctly, right? Nope, the egg white were so runny it looked like someone blew thier nose on my plate!! I never was given the toast that came with my meal!! At this point we gave up and left!! Cereal at home would be better than anything we got here!!! Not only was the food AND service HORRIFIC, but the Manager really didn't seem to care!! And when I say service was horrible I'm not blaming waiter for kitchen issues but I don't care how short handed or busy you are , to argue with a customer the way he did with me about my eggs...

It's okay, it's not what IHOP used to be. You only have four different syrups to choose from originally there was over 12. Just had their crowning blueberry pancakes, they're the current special. The blueberry Preserves on top, had a fermented taste. You could actually slightly taste the alcohol being naturally generated. So they were not stored correctly would be my guess. The pancakes were well not that great. There was some sort of a filler used in them, almost like a protein powder or some sort of a gum of some sort. In general they're regular pancakes are excellent, a little overpriced but if you want pancakes you want them now, it's not a bad place however there are many other diners around Pittsburgh and Antioch that sling up excellent pancakes, Lumpy's isn't bad, the diner that's at the marina in Shore Acres is pretty good too, the closest thing you'll find to an actual greasy spoon that...
