I have been to East End a number of times over the years, and really thought I had reviewed them before, but obviously not. This is a well ran bar and pizza restaurant that always has an inviting feel to it that makes you feel comfortable spending time having a drink or some food and chatting.
On this last visit on a random Saturday afternoon, I fiest tried their Anniversary Dopplebock, which was a strong and intense, but altogether enjoyable beer. I then tried the Central Business District, one of the last entries in their 5 year project for nearly 100 different beers named for and dedicated to different Pittsburgh neighborhoods, which is a really cool endeavor. The beer itself had a unique herbal quality to it, and was a fun and different pilsner. My wife tried their hard lemonade, which unsurprisingly blows something like "Mike's" out of the water, and she really enjoyed it.
Add in an always pleasant staff and nice outdoor area that can be enjoyed by kids and furry friends, and you have a great local establishment that is worth a stop if in the area and craving a good beer and/or some...
Read moreGreat beer, friendly staff, delicious food.
This place has delicious beers and they aren't scared to experiment with their new neighborhood series they are making a beer for every neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Their pickle beer and watermelon beer are my personal favorites.
They also have a newly opened kitchen that serves really good food. I was surprised and impressed I would eat here even if I wasn't looking to go somewhere with delicious beer.
Finally their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I have had a cheery conversation or interaction with every staff member I've interacted with. They have good indoor seating and a nice outdoor seating area both of which are really spacious.
This place is honestly great, please check it out. Enjoy some of their neighborhood beers and maybe some...
Read moreI just yesterday had my first delivery of East End's Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine. The whole process gets my highest rating. Al, the delivery person, communicated with me by text and followed my instructions of leaving the two four packs I ordered on my porch (and not knocking because my dogs would go crazy) to the letter. Now here's the best part = the Barleywine was COLD, so I could drink one immediately, and it was very tasty - some of the best I have ever had. Again, the whole experience receives my highest recommendation, and I will order more in the immediate future. I ordered more Gratitude and just tried their Rye Barrel Aged-it is super and very rye-forward, which perfectly compliments the barleywine. Thanks...
