Hoople's Public House — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

My first time at Hooples and a great time was had by all. I had the giant ham sandwich with a side of Mac & cheese with bacon. The best. The ham is freshly baked every Saturday morning and was out-of-this world. I had my monster sandwich with Swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. It was under $6 I believe and I could only eat 1/4 of it. My friend and father and uncle only ate 1/2 of theirs. Great leftovers! Cozy bar, darts, slots, lots of TVs and super friendly people. Smoked out. If you want to smell like an ashtray after visiting a place, Hooples is for you. It's hard to understand why so many non-chain bars (especially those that serve food) continue to allow smoking. Why alienate 82% of the adult population that doesn't smoke? Really small place but we were welcomed by Tara who seemed to be the only server/bartender/bus person in the place, yet we never felt neglected. They ran out of the fish sandwich my wife wanted but the seafood platter hit the spot. I had a great bacon cheeseburger.
