Update Jan. 15th: So, we got replacement food, but it was no better. Again, the GM was SUPER nice and she did her best to make it right! But they need training on professionalism and grill and grease cleaning. The staff were loud in the kitchen, and the food was overcooked, dark, and just overall not very good. And the GM oversaw our order; so, unfortunately, it wasn't going to get any better. I would eat at the restaurant so I would have the option to make in-person corrections if they were needed, but wouldn't do take-out from here again.
Update Jan. 11th: The GM got back to me and was very professional. She apologized extensively and stated she is committed to quality and is willing to make it right by replacing the bad meals. I appreciate that someone there is taking responsibility and is willing to rectify the situation.
Ordered 2 Fisherman's platters close to closing time around Jan. 5th at the restaurant on Browns Hill Rd in Homestead, PA. After purposely stopping at another store to waste time before getting there, I still had to wait 10 minutes for them to produce my food. When it came out, the cook had made the orders wrong, so I had to wait for onion rings. After checking both containers, I saw that they hadn't given me the shrimp that should have been in the orders; so, I then had to wait for them to make those while the rest of my food got cold. Then, when they did add them, they gave me 4 of the 5 I was supposed to receive per order! The cook added an order of shrimp to compensate me, so I was happy. However, when I got home, half of the shrimp were opaque and RAW inside! The rest of the food was overcooked and hard. So, I went back the next night, with the food in hand, to report it. I was told I had to return the next day when the manager was there, because the night cooks (who she said serve as managers in the manager's absence!) could not make a decision...the manager had to do it. 🙄 We're getting a snow storm, so I won't be doing that. But, I called today, and the phone number on Google to the restaurant 1st rang as invalid, but they did give me a different number. Called it and that was invalid. Called the store back and it did ring and someone answered laughing. I was told the manager went on a run and would be back. I was very unhappy with this...
Read moreWell...I decided to give this place one more try. I mean it use to be my favorite breakfast spot. But three years ago the service was so bad I never came back. That was the past. And as much as we don't like to admit it. Things do change. Well that was not the case here. I'll start with the waitress whose name was Summer. She made my fiance and I feel completely rushed. Before I could get my coat off... she was asking us for drinks. As this was a slow day...before I could turn to the second page of the menu... our drinks arrived. At which time she was asking for our order. I had to tell her to give us a minute to look things over. After a few minutes I decided on Country Fried Steak and a side of sausage. My lady ordered Crepes and a side of sausage. Again not being busy...our order came out in a decent amount of time. All except my ladies side of sausage. Summer said it would be right out... and we watched her walk away and help other patrons that had been seated. As my lady and I conversed and ate... I noticed her side of sausage never came out. So as Summer walked by I made sure to say out loud that the Crepes will be gone before the sausage comes out. Now I don't think Summer heard me as about another 3 to 4 minutes passed before she bought the plate of sausage out. Next thing I know Summer is bringing the check to the table. No question of if everything is ok? Would you like anything else? Would you like a refill? How about some to go boxes? Nothing! Just... I'll take that when your ready! My fiance looked at me as if she was cringing not wanting me to make a scene. And I didn't. Simply ate a few more bits and decided that this trip would be my last trip to IHOP! Oh how I hoped things had changed. But some things remain the same. As someone in the Customer Service industry. A good bit of training needs to be done by IHOP employees. Maybe I will give you another try in another...
Read moreWe stopped here on Sunday on our way out of Pittsburgh for breakfast. when we arrived we had our name added to the list via the host and were told about a 15 minute wait. we didn't think much of it since it was sunday morning. 40 minutes later, I had observed the following: tons of groups of people leave without ever being seated, at least 5 groups finish and leave but only 2 groups being seated -one of which was by herself and berated the host to seat her (unsure of her wait). The host never crossed names off his list and called names so quiet you couldn't hear him. People actually asked him if they needed to write their own name on the list because he had been gone so long from the stand. When I peaked around the wall the restaurant was less than 1/3 full. I finally asked when we would be seated (knowing the group right in front of us had been seated 5 or 10 minutes prior) and his response was the same as he kept telling others that had barely waited, that they were really busy and he was going to seat everyone when he could. I finally got a little testy with him and he spent 10 seconds trying to find his spot on the list to realize we were next and he finally seated us at our prompting. a waitress was trying to jump in and help at that point only to realize that she had to ask people their name to find them on the list. After that service was okay and food was fine. We did our best not to take it out on the waitress and had a good rest of our breakfast. Pretty sure the host was higher than a kite/baked. After seeing other reviews here, I'm hoping no one spit in our food ... YUCK!!! Corporate really needs to do something...
