Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews — Restaurant in Homestead

Many of my acquaintances who must also eat Gluten Free have been telling me to try Red Robin because it is fantastic. There is a reason why I rarely take the advice of "acquaintances" and this is it: they are rarely right. ONLY TRUST YOUR BEST BUDS!

There is one Red Robin in my area in CT and I had no desire to go out of my way to try a chain-y place when we have so many cool local places in CT and southern RI. However, this RR was right down the road from my hotel here in Homestead, PA and I wanted to take advantage of my opportunity to try this place out, finally.

I ordered the Guacamole Bacon on a GF bun, a side of sweet potato fries, crispy, and a Poppin Purple Lemonade.

The lemonade was served in a funky glass. The glass was the only attractive part of this meal. The drink was sweet...nothing special.

The burger was actually good but not for the price...$10.95! (I can't recall if there was an upcharge for the GF bun). This was an average burger that cannot be called gourmet. There was a tiny SCHMEAR of some kind of fake looking guac sauce on the top bun. Bacon was cooked well.

I did ask for crispy sweet potato fries...BIG mistake. Crispy must mean burnt to RR. Inedible. The server did replace the fries, however, they were only a little better...no taste. Rubbery. How do you make a sweet potato fry rubbery in a fryer?

I can see why folks who do not have access to restaurants that serve reliable GF food would enjoy Red Robin burgers. If that is all you have access to, it IS a decent, average burger. But here on the Waterfront in Homestead if you want a great burger on a gluten free bun...go to BURGATORY. My goodness, they are...

This is my first time ever eating at RedRobin and boy I’m kicking myself that I never have. All that is most certainly going to change because, we came here to eat dinner before we head into our movie so we just decided to try. We really didn’t want any of the options available around us. We come inside and it almost gives a miniature Fridays vibe. It was pretty decent inside and clean so that’s a bonus. We went to sit at the bar the bartender was not very attentive. Babe found something in her drink and the bartender was no where to be found for a while to make her another. I had wine and she certainly filled the glass. lol We ordered a appetizer “The onion ring shorty” comes with 6 instead of getting the big order of 13. When they came out they were super hot ( which I love) they were so good! I was alittle disappointed the bartender didn’t even sit out ketchup, pepper or salt out in front of us.The sauce that comes with it is Chefs Kiss! Also comes with ranch. We both ordered a drink the bartender did not offer us any water. I ordered the Scorpion Burger and OMG!!!! The BEST BURGER I have had in a very long time. The garlic fries were amazing. AND THE SIDES ARE BOTTOMLESS. Everything was just very hot and fresh tasting. I was craving a hot (spicy) burger and it was hot ( spicy) and soooooo good. I cleared my entire plate 😀 Anyways I will say if you haven’t tried yet please do like yesterday! Food was banging! ❤️ We will certainly be back to try...

I just want to say that our waitress was kind and as accommodating as she could be and this poor review has nothing to do with her. We came to this location tonight and when we were seated, our table was filthy still from the previous customers with crumbs and spilled beverage and smeared sauce all over it. The hostess had to hurry and wipe the table down right in front of us but the attempt was definitely hurried and she neglected the chairs. The table and chairs were super sticky and had crumbs and my husband and I couldn’t even feel comfortable resting our elbows or hands on the table or chair at all.

When they brought out our drinks, a questionable substance was attached to the straws that were placed on the table for us, which was disgusting. You could just tell that the whole place just wasn’t clean and made us worry about the food… and apparently, we had good reason to worry.

My husband ordered a burger and it came out super pink and completely inedible. We sent it back and asked them to take it off the check. Our waitress offered to bring out a new burger or chicken tenders but at this point we just couldn’t wait to leave so we just finished what was left of my meal (I had completely lost my appetite) and hurried out of there. Our waitress was busy because she was bartending as well so I don’t blame her at all for the overall service being so poor. It was a terrible experience and we will not be returning to...
