walked in store. Floor is soaked from rain and ceiling is leaking. (No carpet nor wet floor signs). The store is empty except for the three women working. Two are behind the desk talking about need for new hires and one is one the floor. All three look at me and say nothing. I’m looking for presents for my daughter. I look around for about 15-20 minutes and no one says anything. At all. After 25 min the (I think) manager walks by and says everything is 40% off just so you know. I barely understand her because she says it as she is walking by. She didn’t say hi, didn’t ask if I needed help, no suggestive sales. Nothing. continue to shop. I think it my head That it’s personal but three other women come in after me. All three employees look at the door and say nothing. It’s a big season in retail. Annoyed at the lack of customer service I leave. As I’m leaving two employees are putting clothes away by the door. They say nothing. So I turn back and say the store would probably do better sales if the sales people actually interacted with the customers. They both stare at me and literally say nothing. This isn’t the first time this happened. Same thing last time. The first time I was there I spent about $650.00. The clothes aren’t cheap. But the next two visits were so poor I couldn’t stand to give my money. I walked across the street and spent about 1200 at Gap & Express.
Seriously do better. Especially given your subprime location and cost...

Four or five years ago, you really couldn't beat Torrid, especially not on sale. They had something for literally everyone. Now? I'm not sure who they're appealing to but it isn't me-it isn't a lot of people I know either. Every so often I'll find something I like on sale and snag it, but even their dresses and undies (which I used to swear by) don't do it for me the way they used to. I've mostly moved on. How can I not, when they want $70+ for a dress that's cute simply because it's been...
Read moreThe store is kept up well and it's nice to have somewhere at the Waterfront to buy plus size in store, they also usually have decent sales.
The customer service really knocks it down for me. The past several times I've gone it, I'm barely acknowledged, let alone assisted - I've even had to step in to help other customers who were ignored by employees.
Yesterday was probably the worst, not even a hello, one employee - I think the manager, was shopping for herself, one was checking out another guest, and the third was processing new clothing -when I asked for a dressing room, she seemed frustrated. It was also their bra fit event, which wasn't ever mentioned or acknowledged.
With Lane Bryant being gone, Torrid had big shoes to fill...
