I used to make the drive from Irwin to Southside way back in 2011 to get these shakes. They had a large selection of ice cream flavors and a plethora of mix ins that you can add to the shakes. If I remember correctly, they used Perry's ice cream. These shakes were AMAZING and totally worth the drive down there. Instead of getting mint, cookie dough, strawberry ice cream in your shakes, they now use flavored syrups that are similar to the ones that coffee shops use to flavor their drinks. Once the Milk Shake Factory started to grow, they started taking short cuts that totally changed the shakes. These shakes are subpar at best now and definitely wouldn't be something that I would consider to be gourmet. You could make a tasty shake at home with any type of ice cream you want and any mix in you can think of and it would be way better. I'm sure theres reasons for these shortcuts but I just ask "why change a good thing?" Definitely not worth the drive now even though theres one right near my house. Its unfortunate. If you used to indulge in these shakes back then, dont expect them to be...
Read moreA little late to the show, but worth it nonetheless. Before the summer began, Milkshake Factory discontinued their Wednesday happy hours. This offered all (maybe most?) milkshakes off at half price. This was the main reason I would go as $8 was a bit high to convince myself on. Once they decided off with this trend, I (sadly) haven’t been back since. Just down the street is FudgeFarm, which does have gourmet milkshakes and special discounts as well. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re close!!
Basically a regular at this point every Wednesday. Stop by on my way home from work during milkshake happy hour. I’m lactose intolerant and I STILL go here all the time, so if that doesn’t tell you how good it is, I’m not sure...
Read moreOverall they have many selections of milkshakes, ice cream, and sundae. If you love chocolate, you will love the many choices of fresh chocolate and and gift boxes on the counter. I liked the strawberry banana and red velvet milkshakes. I went with my friends last night but everybody hated their milkshakes!! One friend got pina colata with mango but they added almonds without telling her, which made the milkshake tastes almondy not mangoy. Another friend got milkshake with walnuts, but they didn't blended the walnuts into the milkshake so she had to get a spoon to eat the walnuts. Then another friend got butternut milkshake but it was so watered down and it wasn't sweet at all. Steak n' Shake and Burgatory are known to have better and richer...
