I thought the food was quite tasty and the prices were pretty awesome. It's a simple type of place, nothing too unique or extravagant. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a side of sweet cornbread.

Both items were very tasty. The pulled pork sandwich came in a nice portion. The price was awesome at just $9. They had a great ratio of meat to bread. The bottom layer of bread was completely soaked from the moistness of the pork, though.

The meat itself was tender and decently flavorful. Not too fatty thankfully. Their BBQ sauce is very standard and not my favorite, but it did add some solid flavor to the sandwich. The sandwich also has some coleslaw, which is nice. It's already included with the meat.

The cornbread was quite good as well. Not too crumbly, but I do still wish it were more moist. I loved the cinnamon butter they served with it! Still warm when I got home from the drive. And so, so delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. Tasted almost like cake.

All in all, I definitely enjoyed this place. Very good meat and cornbread. It's a solid spot that anyone seeking BBQ should try out at least once. Reasonable prices and good...

Highly disappointed in the quality. Not sure if smoked means that some smoke blew around the meat or what but the flavor is lacking. The ribs have minimal flavor and minimal meat(expected with st louis to some degree). The pulled pork has a texture of coming from a frozen bag, reheated and then some greasy sauce poured on it. The brisket is an atrocity that is chopped to hide the fact that its not actually smoked properly and again smothered in sauce. The sauce lacks any zing. It taste like a bottle of ketchup with some cracked pepper added in The catfish was undercooked with a doughy ring inside. The sauce was decent The greens were bland The mac and cheese was less enjoyable than my easy mac that I had for lunch

I have traveled all over the world and eaten BBQ. I was born and raised in the south. I know what real BBQ taste like. And this, at SSBBQ, is not it. I will have to say thats it the second worst BBQ I have ever had, just in front of DJs...

This was a horrible experience. I attached photos for proof. I ordered at 4:12 PM for a 5:20pm pickup, and I arrived at 5:30pm. I live 40 min away and drove in specifically to try this spot. What a MISTAKE!!! The bartender was completely rude when I arrived and told me not to order in advance, to order when I actually “want” the food because my food had been “sitting” there. I looked at him confused because I did order it when I wanted it. Before I could get words out, he snapped that I ordered two hours ago, which was simply a lie, as my pictures show. He said the kitchen doesn’t know how to “time” orders. Most importantly, my food was WRONG!! Shame on me for driving that far and not checking the accuracy of my order, but the man was so rude we just bolted out of there. I ordered brisket and received some sort of chilli pasta. The ghost pepper Mac, cornbread, and coleslaw were amazing. I refuse to eat the chili thing and never received my brisket.
