Displeasure Bar: We went here because it was one of the few resteraunts within walking distance open past 10:30 that would admit us under 21. I ordered one of the pasta specials, which was really disappointing. The linguine was overcooked, served with zucchini and roasted red peppers. The "sauce" was essentially just vegetable oil, and I had to add copious amounts of pepper flakes and parmesan because the dish was just so bland. If it had been made with homemade pasta, high quality olive oil and roasted red peppers, and fresh vegetables, this special may have worked, but with the clearly frozen veggies and pale watery oil, it just tasted industrial and gross. My roommate got the carbonara, which she also mentioned didn't have much flavor. The portions were large, but the food itself was not enjoyable. I felt that $15 for my vegetarian pasta was a bit much, and the soup that came with it was congealing as soon as it was served. Additionally, we were told that the entrees came with a side of potato or vegetable for free, but we were charged extra for the side after we had ordered it . I really wanted to like this place, as I've been looking for good Italian food in Pittsburgh, but I can be sure that I won't be coming back. Also : don't go on karaoke night. It was a very strange juxtaposition between the almost - empty dining area and the blasting karaoke coming from the bar. If you're looking for ambiance this is...
Read moreThe first and LAST time that I was at The Pleasure Bar showed me why some people shouldn't have restaurants. I was in Bloomfield for a doctors appointment and heard great things about this place. The person who suggested this place should be shot! I had a good 45 minutes for lunch, so I order pasta. I knew that meal would be quick. My server, Kelly I think her name was, not only made me wait ten minutes when I sat down but also walked up to the table with an attitude that said " you are a waste of my time"!. After forgetting our drinks that we asked her for, she made it sound as if we were wrong for ordering them. Upon leaving, the woman at behind the bar was completely rude! When we tried to explain to her about our experience, not only was her attention on group of men at the end of the bar, but she walked away when I was in mid sentence. I guess she had to refill her drink so the shakes wouldn't come back. I'd suggest hiring an alcoholic for a bartender is not the best idea if you want to keep your licence to sell alcohol. I WILL NEVER, EVER COME TO THE PLEASURE BAR AGAIN! I should be called The Gloom Bar because I would have rather been in jail for the rest of my life than experience another trip to this excuse of a restaurant. I wish there were ratings such as "Worse...
