It’s american chinese-style cooking, but NOT AUTHENTIC / NOT RECOGNIZABLE of any of the regional Chinese cuisines. The menu is a mere re-categorization of the same lists of food so commonly, and lamentably, so pervasively perpetuated among these types of eateries. What’s going for this place is its nice dining ambience. On hot day, it’s got a cool environment. And yes, the service staff are very polite and also amenable to requests about the food they serve. Unfortunately, like the usual chinese-style eatery, the menu is populated with deep fried stuff (egg rolls, etc)👎👎👎. Deep frying is NOT a practice in Chinese cuisines….Then it lists General Tso’s as its specialty, which is NOT Chinese food. Going through the entire menu, majority are “brown” sauce, which mean soy sauce👎👎👎. There is more to real Chinese cooking than soy sauce bases. Most are stir fried. There’s only two dishes worth ordering: Mixed vegetables with shrimps and Stir fried egg plant, with thick soy sauce instead of the common watery one.

To give put this review in context, it is based on a take-out order. The food ordered was 5star cheap, so would definitely go again. The main issue we found with the food was that it was a bit bland. This was solved with just a quick stirfry in the pan with some soy sauce (the veggies, lo mein and dumplings), which helped immensely and actually tasted really good for such a low effort. We found the soups were pretty good, but the spring rolls and dumplings needed a lil love. The lo mein had VERY little tofu in it. (the teeny corn in the veggies was really yummy though) Pictured are: wonton soup hot and sour soup lo mein with tofu Szechuan Veggies with tofu Spring rolls

I work near Wai Wai and this is always a favorite place to get a quick Chinese bite to eat. The food is always made fresh and the there is plenty to choose from with their vast selection. The chicken fried rice is amazing and taste nothing like any other Chinese place. The location itself is small, but their style of Chinese food has some big taste. The plates are large and fairly priced for the area too. The Only negative thing I can say is that the egg roles can sometimes be greasy when freshly cooked, but that makes them taste so good too. Lunch specials are large enough to share and always a great choice for a tasty meal.

This uset to be my favorite restaurant. I was always recommending them to ppl at least 3x's a week. Then it seems they started to no longer care about their customers. I was once spending on average $200 a week here, so I would often buy Groupons or Just pay half cause times have gotten a lil tough. Well now they mark ur bill up 18% then apply coupon which in the end saves you 0. My total today was $76, I bought a Groupon for $15 for $30 worth of food. Tell me why my new total is $61 if I use my Groupon. Exactly I saved 0! They know its a rip off & dont care. Its crazy to trick customers into thinking ur giving them a lil break with a coupon just to have it be a lie & a waste of our time. There was no point to even spend the $15 on the coupon when only $15 was going be taking off. Not the $30 promised in coupon advertising. Please correct my math if I'm wrong. I paid $15 in hopes to get $30 off. My new total went from $76 to $61. So what did I save? Was my time not wasted by paying $15 just to only have $15 removed 🤔 Which by the way it dosent state the 18% mark up in the fine print as it should. It actually states there is no added gratuity so please tip accordingly. So their not even being honest there! Instead they find it amusing to spring it on you once you get there, go to pay and think ur about to save some money but surprise we lied! It's like they are playing in customers faces, and dont care because online it makes them look like a restaurant that cares about providing their customers a lil relief. I guess since integrity and morals are out the door, I need to exit too and find another spot. I cant knowingly spend my hard earned money with a place that thinks they are getting over on me, jokes on me when they know its wrong and continue to do it anyway🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️...

I used to order here regularly years ago and was always pleased with the quality of their food. They are no longer a go-to for me after today. Wai Wai's has gone downhill over the past 3 years. They have a Cantonese Noodle dish with noodle the operative word. However, they never give you enough noodles, so I must order extra and I am charged for these noodles an extra $1.50 for something that probably costs them pennies. Their chicken on a stick used to be so yummy, now nowhere near what it once was. Their fried rices are flavorless and bland. They never give much sauce for dishes that have sauce. Again, you must order extra and pay for that as well. They are not consistent. Once in awhile something is okay. I order from them because the only alternative in Bloomfield is China House and some of their dishes aren't bad but many are not that good. Plus during this period of Covid, Wai Wai's still delivers when China House doesn't. I was craving Chinese today and took another chance and ordered from them. I expressed to the guy on the phone that most places that serve General Tso's chicken, give you hard, tough dry prices with a hard not crispy, coating. Usually a disappointment wherever I may order once in a while. I don't enjoy having to pay $2 for delivery. It is not worth it! The only think I like about this restaurant is the staff. They are always friendly. I almost forgot- the person who took my order today assured me that the General Tso's is fresh, cooked to order. No way was that cooked to order. I threw it out. A waste of money....

The most bizarre experience. I placed my delivery over the phone. An hour and a half hour later, I call to check on the status of my delivery...They have no record of my delivery. Mind you, they took my credit card information over the phone and my card had already been charged for the price of the order but they continued to deny the existence of my order. I hate asking to speak with a manager, I am not that kind of person, but after the dolt who was "helping" me started to get an attitude and be short with me, I asked to speak with the manager to just make sure he was aware of the situation. I definitely did not want anything free or any sort of special treatment out of the situation. I initially just wanted my money back or my food. But after that extremely strange experience, I was just happy to be done with it.

I had eaten there several times prior and the food is pretty great, not going to lie. I like the food. The staff on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. Even that shouldn't be an issue in a world of takeout and delivery, but it is if they take your money and then deny the existence of your order. I'll be disputing the charge with my...
