I visited this location on Oct 9th and ordered a drink & snack at the drive thru. After the employee, Maya, gave me my order, I noticed I did not get my debit card back and right away informed her before she closed the window. She said “no, I gave it back” directly. With the confidence of the employee and me not wanting to argue, especially with now feeling uncertain about maybe having actually gotten my card back, I started driving in order to catch a very important appointment. When thinking about each step of the transaction at the drive thru, I knew I did not get my card back. I called the store and spoke with an employee who, after describing my card, said they did have it. I drove back to the store, already 15 minutes in the opposite direction, and went to the drive thru. A younger, male employee who claimed he was manager came to the window and I explained the conversation I had over the phone with the employee. I was told, “I don’t know who you spoke with, but that’s not true. We don’t have your card; I don’t know who told you we did” (without even checking to verify his statement) and closed the window. The employee, Maya, who never gave me my card did not say anything, until she heard me say I don’t have my card and they had it, yelled at me across the drive thru window when I was speaking with the “manager”, “I gave it back to you! I remember! I handed it to you!” At this point, I was in tears, knowing my card was lost when I needed it, driving to an appointment I ended up missing, and turning my car upside down to look for my card. I decided to call the store again and spoke with an actual manager, named Ijaaz. He was very helpful and apologetic when he informed that the store did have my card, in which I picked up the next day.
This experience has made me very wary of using my card at drive thrus of fear this will happen again. I am so disappointed as a regular customer to have experienced something like this, a situation where many people would call the authorities over, only to get a “sorry.” As I explained to the manager and corporate over the phone, I understand that sometimes employees are busy and may forget to give the customer change, their card, etc. However, it is unnacceptable for the employee to be rude to the customer and not even check to see if the card was there or not and right away say “I handed it back to you!” All I wanted was a cup of coffee after a long, stressful day and I did not imagine that getting coffee would add that much anxiety and stress to my day....
Read moreAt this Starbucks, Carpenter rd location you may experience sudden rude outburst, see headsets slammed into countertops, and be insulted, disrespected in front of your family, friends and other patrons. I and my family including a child (total 3 ppl) witnessed drive-thru barista who made our drinks explode in anger and rage, slamming their wireless headset violently on the countertop and shout they are quitting and storm away to the backroom and say how I was an "picky a$$-hole" and more explicitives that I couldn't make out due to them being in the backroom complaining to their manager about my order. I had no idea that when placing my order the iced chai latte may not have been submitted correctly. This was by far one of the most humilating experiences. I was horrified. The furious barista kept interrupting" I will make another, I will make 2 drinks, 3 drinks a thousand drinks," when I spoke with the barista that took my original order at the register to try to figure out what went wrong. Another barista's insisted on remaking the latte for me but I did not want to spend another second in that location after the humilating, raging, unwarranted outburst from the drive-thru barista unsettling behavior occurred. I had already waited an 1/2 hr to 45 mins for my drinks and not wanting to witness or endure another angry, raging outburst from the barista whom was mainly taking orders from the drive-thru window. So to be cIear, I placed an order inside the Carpenter Starbucks with my family on Nov. 6th approx. 7pm this was not a drive-thru order and practically got cussed out, we watched barista throw their headset in a fit of rage over me innocently voicing that my drink was the wrong size and temperature. The manager came out of the backroom and looked at me as if I had done something wrong and...
Read moreThis is my go-to Starbucks location. Consistently has the beverages and items I want in stock, generally as speedy as they can be for an extremely high traffic store, and ALWAYS a kind face to greet you! They don't know me or recognize me to my knowledge because I try to be and out of their hair as quickly as I can be, but today I had an interaction that prompted me to want to scream about how much I love this location.
I came in after a particularly bad day of a very stressful week. I ordered a hot beverage with whole milk in it, and unbeknownst to me that can cause the texture to be...not good haha. However, Khassidy (I hope I am spelling this right - I will surely update my review if not!) took the time to ask me who the drink was for and explain how I can order it (even through the app) to get the desired texture and flavor without it getting the funky texture in the future.
I know all too well how upsetting it can be to have to make a drink you know a customer will hate because the app let them order it, and even more so how rude some people must be when they try to explain other options to help them get what they're looking for.
I was SO thankful for Khassidy's knowledge and expert recommendations. The drink was truly phenomenal. That small extension of kindness and a moment of human-to-human interaction really meant so much to me. I see Khassidy working at this location often when I pop in to grab my mobile orders, and I will always cherish how that small gesture ended my bad week on a positive...
