This is a summary of many visits. Last one being around 8pm this past Saturday night, give or take as we made an impromptu after a home dinner trip out. We always feel slightly disappointed leaving here. First time on opening day went well (my daughter and I got popsicles) it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed sitting out on location having a treat. Second attempt was with my husband and daughter, shake was pricey in my opinion (oreo) but good so if you want to spend money on one by all means go ahead. However they were super busy and orders appeared to be coming out completely out of order. There were ten people surrounding the pick up window waiting for different things and some how we were first. My daughter got icecream in a cup with sprinkles as we were walking back home, seemed to be okay not a ton of sprinkles which is a 70 something cent up charge. This Saturday we were told the icecream was melted so we couldn't get regular icecream just soft serve so I just skipped my order and had what we had at home. My daughter got a popsicle that looked either handmade in the plastic bag or melted and refroze in the bag (she still seemed to love it so that is all that matters). My husband got a soft serve cone with sprinkles, again the upcharge but he is a sucker for sprinkles. I kid you not he got it with probably less than 10 sprinkles on the cone. A little bit of a disappointment. Little to say the place does have potential but consistency/practices in place seems to be a hot issue they need to work on and we will likely not be back soon in hopes to see if they improve over time. It has potential but as of now we tend to have more negative views...
Read moreThis location used to be a favorite stop of mineâŠuntil the ownership, name and menu changes. I am not hard to please. I just want soft serve ice cream. This ice cream was âgrainy.â The consistency - and the taste - was just âoff.â I didnât even finish it. Made me wonder if it was frozen yogurt or something other than traditional soft serve ice cream. Or maybe it was just cheap ingredients or the machine isnât working properly. Whatever it is, I gave them two tries about a year apart and got the same thing. And all I had was a small soft serve cup. Nothing special. Nothing else. And the last visit, people who placed their order after me got their order before me. How long does it take to dispense a single small cup of chocolate/vanilla âtwistâ? Now I just drive by, (several times a week), and think about how much I miss the place when they served good quality soft serve ice cream. I donât know if the new owners decided to cut costs to try to get a quicker return on their investment or what, (which is a mistake many small food establishment buyers make). Whatever the reason for the decline in the quality of the product,...
Read moreBeen coming here since it was Lil E's. Prices are higher, but maybe that's why they sold...
We've been here a few times since the ownership changed and we haven't noticed the quality difference - in fact, the food has been amazing. Eating at an ice cream place is a but like ordering a bean burrito with no beans, but the Philly (although nothing like the picture) was really good. The tamales my wife got were "best I've had in a long time". Kids got quesadillas and hot dog - none were left before we went back for ice cream.
Ice cream was good as usual. I love the addition of the "Frozen Tornado" (blizzard).
As far as "atmosphere" - the picnic tables and grass area needs serious attention. Grass is too long inviting bugs and preventing kids from enjoying the (broken) connect 4 game. Spend some time/money over there and more people will stay. The longer they stay, the more they spend.
We'll keep...
