The Red Hen Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Plain City

Absolutely blown away, It’s so hard for me to eat out because of the lack of homemade high quality food and this cafe exceeded expectations. This morning was the first time we visited, we started with the pecan cinnamon roll and it was unbelievable. Didn’t last 5 minutes between me and my fiancé. He ordered the full nest breakfast, and I got the quiche. Get the house made biscuits with the full nest. The Jam they bring out with them is heavenly…. The quince’s crust was house made and so flaky. Flavors of both breakfasts were fantastic. Needed nothing! I ordered the honey cinnamon breve latte and wow. Seriously no words to how good this place was!!

The owner even came and talked to us and brought us our food and coffee. She was the absolute sweetest! Love seeing her in her own shop and her attention to detail was immaculate. She took the time to answer all of our questions when we were ordering

The two "cinnamon" rolls we purchased were OUT OF THIS WORLD good (one was actually raspberry.) While it was early (approx 8:30- 8:45 a.m. the place seemed to be overwhelmed. It took nearly 15 minutes for us to receive our rolls, which seemed odd to me. Cooked food seem to take even longer. I personally thought the prices were a bit high, especially for the serving size I was seeing for the cooked items. The rolls were fairly large. A nice experience, but probably one that I won't repeat - only partially due to the above. Other reasons are that I rarely am in that area and parking is far from adequate. Add to the inadequacies re: parking, the fact that I drive a larger pickup truck. The spaces would NOT accommodate the length of my vehicle and it would be a tight...

I have become a regular to this place. While I couldn't say the food here is outstanding and the best I've ever had, it's definitely the best food you can get in the area, it's really good. Prices can feel a bit high, and I don't like how they ask for tips when you order online, but that has become a norm so I can't blame them. Also I don't mind paying more since it's a small local business. I get their coffee and food all the time if I need a quick meal because it beats getting subway or McDonald's. It's fresh and yummy! I wish the layout of the inside was more welcoming and cafe-like. I wanted to go there to sit and draw, but most of the tables are put together for large groups of people, so it's not very welcoming to sit inside if you are...
