----------------------EDITED REVIEW----------------------- Portion sizes are now smaller. They changed take out containers. This is the third time I've drove to this location for them to have no ribs. Not being able to call this place is complete BS. It's not fair that customers can't call and talk to someone before taking a drive to patronize your guy's business! I wanted to specifically call and ask if you guys had ribs this time, after being let down twice. But of course, you guys dont want customers being able to call for some reason. Only business I've ever seen without a phone. Only BBQ place I've ever seen without ribs.. Anyways, so now today my wife drives over a half hour to you guys to be told once again, that you have no ribs. It's the only thing in my opinion that makes a 2 or 3 meat plate worth the $20 something bucks. This is now the third time, weeks/months in between visits that you guys magically dont have ribs. And coincidentally, it's the most expensive thing you offer. Unfortunately, because of this, and because I cant call you guys before hand to make sure you guys are offering what you say you do on your website, we will not take a chance driving to your location anymore. Last time I came in, you guys had no ribs of course. So I got Brisket and duck instead. Duck was undercooked and pink In the middle (NOT FROM SMOKE), and almost half of my brisket was pure fat. Also, when I first walked in last time ordering, I told the old guy with longer gray hair that I drove almost an hour to come patronize your guy's business. He laughed at me, put his hands up in the air, shook his head at me and said, "So?"... Also said he was going to charge me for sauces because I wanted more than 2. Im done with you guys! You guys have became greedy. You dont want to make sure you have enough ribs to serve customers, and you guys have went down on portion sizes with the smaller plastic to go containers. This isn't a one time thing not having ribs to serve either. This is the third time you guys have no ribs, weeks inbetween visits. Last time it was 2 oclock in the afternoon. Probably the only BBQ place in the entire state of Michigan that doesnt have ribs 24/7. I dont like half of my brisket being fat btw, I dont like cheap burnt ends and cheesy potatoes for $23 either. Done. I'll go to City BBQ from now on IG. Atleast they'll have ribs.
----------Original Review From Last Year-----------
Went here yesterday with my fiance for the first time! And I haven't stopped thinking about how good this food is! We both ordered the 3 meat plate w 2 sides. We got ribs, brisket, burnt ends, mac n cheese, cheesy potatoes, and cornbread. At $23 a plate its an awesome deal. This is by far the best damn BBQ we've had in the past 2-3 years. Dickies BBQ pit could never compare. Ribs were juicy and flavorful. Brisket was juicy and tender falling apart! Burnt ends were awesome and complemented the meal perfectly with the savory BBQ sauce. I see reviews saying the mac n cheese was bland etc. Definitely not. I have had worse mac n cheese at other places. Their mac n cheese is fire! Cheesy potatoes were just as good! Cornbread was amazing! Literally amazing cornbread. I can't believe how good this place is. My fiance and I travel all over the midwest, and we are from Chicago. We're used to good Chicagoland BBQ and we can never find good BBQ out this way. We couldn't be happier with our purchase. The only down side is they're closed on Sundays and Mondays. Of course we had to bless our taste buds with this food on a Saturday 🙄 and now we can't get anymore of this food until Tuesday! 🤣 Staying in town an extra 2 days just because we have to have more of this BBQ before we go home! Good job guys...
Read moreMUST VISIT! Plan to eat outside since this place is takeout only, and it's my fault I didn't check that before coming in. My wife prefers Korean BBQ because of the sweet, tangy and juicy marinades that goes deep into the meat than the flavor of the meat itself. I like both US BBQ and Korean BBQ and I always want to convince her how good the US BBQ is. This place finally did it. For the record, she was not hungry going in so it didn't help the case at all, but she still devoured the burnt ends, hot honey BBQ pulled pork and half of the side dishes. We chose broccoli salad, smoked baked beans, loaded mashed potatoes and quinoa salad. Although both salad need a bit more flavor, they were both fresh, crunchy and balanced. My wife especially liked the quinoa salad. My 2yo daughter chewed through the pulled pork with no effort, and my 4yo son managed to swipe 5 burnt ends before my wife arrived. Oh, and the corn bread that came with the meal, chef's kiss. Sorry there are no photos because WE ATE ALL OF THEM LOL. You can see the kitchen in the back which is clean, the front desk allowed trial bites and were extremely friendly. I appreciated them asking for customer feedback on the spot and that showed they put their heart into the food. Last but not least, to get four of us all fed and satisfied I spent less than $39. IN THIS ECONOMY?! Only other place that can pull this stunt now is the Costco food court. Definitely will return. And my wife approving US BBQ for the first time meant the world to me. Update: Returned 9/20/25 and took pictures before we licked the...
Read moreWe stopped here on 11/26/23, 4:45 p.m. on our way home from a long day in Grand Rapids, and the only word that I could think of and the only word that keeps popping in my head is excellent. If you're in the area and you're in the mood for something delicious and moderately priced, then stop in and grab some delicious smoky goodness. They're take out only. Sorry, no dining in. Check out their Facebook page and give it a like. They're really on top of things, and they're constantly updating. If it gets any better than this, I've never had it, and I've eaten at a lot of specialty joints. I still want some sausage egg and cheese sausage (Hint, hint. Haha.)
Beef Brisket Chili - full of flavor, beans, and big chunks of brisket. A nice, filling, hearty meal. No tortilla chips or crackers for this one...excellent.
Loaded Mashed Potatoes - you could taste every single ingredient and probably the best potatoes I've ever had...excellent.
The Beef and Cheddar Sausage - great flavor heavy on the smoke, which is not a bad thing. I really liked it. I only bought one link, but now i wish i had more...excellent.
The Italian Wedding Soup - Erin really liked it. She wasn't planning on eating all of it last evening, but it was so good that she couldn't stop herself. I took a sip of the broth and it was really good. I may have to make some here at...
