Sunday, 29 Nov 2020 I don’t consider myself any kind of a writer especially during these frustration times of a pandemic. Yesterday, Sunday afternoon sometime around mid-day literally (at halftime of a football game) a companion and I decided to go and have some local Italian cuisine at a casual comfortable restaurant. We stopped at the closest place on route 315 to finish watching the rest of the football game that we were watching elsewhere, and have something to eat, to support the local economy. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted nicely and decided to choose a table in clear site of a TV near the bar. The bar area was empty not another person around but the barmaid. She approached us and offered to serve us drinks and a menu, we asked to have the football game on the TV, where we sat near the bar. She found someone to change the channel for us and everything was good. As we were browsing thru the menu an older guy in the restaurant decided to change all the channels on the TVs at the bar without any explanation, including the one we were watching, things also changed from there…… I SAID EXCUSE ME, we were watching the game on this television. The gray hair man said he had to change the channels for the customers (the place was empty) and insist on keeping a different channel on the TV in front of us. Well needless to say we had some exchange of words and ideas, but it wasn’t going anywhere on my part but OUT THE DOOR, and I did. Put some money for the drinks on the table and walked out…. I’m glad he didn’t follow me, and argued more like he it did during the summer month sometime. I didn’t understand, but I guess there wasn’t any customer service relating to his relations with people, nor does he worry about keeping people coming back. He was arrogant, disrespectful, and suborn and it hard to understand how or why he treated us in that manner during this time when businesses (or him) are looking to get...
Read moreI called in an order for a business luncheon the night prior. The woman who took the order said someone would be able to walk the order across the plaza parking lot to a local business for a few extra dollars the next day, to which I agreed. I gave her my credit card number over the phone and the go ahead. It was supposed to arrive at 12:15 for a 12:30 luncheon. When I called I was told "oh, we missed that, we can get it done now for you." (already 15 min. late). I asked if someone could still take it over and was told someone would have to get it, that I can come and pick it up. Since I am not close by, that was the reason for the delivery question the night before. If I was told NO, I would have called somewhere else. Since I wasn't given a time that someone could pick it up, I called back to see when it would be ready. I heard the server ask the cook "Chico" how long it would be, to which he replied sarcastically, 2 hours. They server said give us 20 minutes. Since I am not close to the facility or to the restaurant, I had to call someone at the facility to pick it up, and it STILL wasn't ready. At this point, we are near 1 hour late from the 12:15pm requested time. This will be the first AND last order of any size Leggio's receives from me. A $62 pizza order shouldn't be this difficult. Read moreI ordered chicken oscar with angel hair pasta. My husband ordered veal oscar with linguini. We received chicken francaise (which was amazing...I took 2 bites...and would have kept it, except...)& chicken marsala, both with angel hair. Mentioned nicely to our waitress that our orders were not correct. She immediately pulled our dishes, saying she'd be right back. We had waited 20 minutes for these meals. Two minutes later, our neighbors had their meals...the ones we just had whisked away from us, and we had tasted. We know this because they couldn't possibly have cooked new dishes for them in 2 minutes when it took 20 to cook ours. Waited another 15-20 minutes, only to get another wrong order. I received veal, not chicken. My husband got the correct meal this time, but could not eat the veal because it was so tough. I do not eat veal, but hadn't eaten all day, so forced it down. When the waitress asked how our meals were, I nicely told her we received 3 wrong meals, and the veal was so tough my husband couldn't eat his. We were charged full price for wrong meals, and inedible veal. We will never return, despite the fact that the chicken francaise I first received was wonderful. We have closer restaurants nearby who also do an excellent job. Giving one star because zero is...
