Intro: Not to be too snide but after my first experience here I am not sure why this place has as high a rating as it does.
Service: We went here for lunch around 11:30 and especially when factoring in the amount of employees seen walking around, service was absolutely abysmal. I'd say it's some of the worst service I've had in West Texas. The ice machine was broken during our visit and while the staff quickly rectified the situation via store-bought ice, our waitress did not come back by to refill my initial iceless Coke. To her credit though the waitress did apologize for the "slow service," upon dropping off the check.
Food: And the only thing that could have redeemed the service, the food, unfortunately, did not. I got the fajita beef nachos which were, largely, lacking in flavor and were nearly room temperature when they finally made it to me. My coworkers did however note that the tacos were actually pretty good.
Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean enough and tables were bussed quickly after patrons left. It was disheartening however to see the staff smack the aforementioned store-bought ice bags against the kitchen floor before pouring them in the ice troth.
TL;DR: You probably don't want to come here around lunch time as the restaurant for whatever reason seemed ill-equipped to handle a decent lunch rush. The restaurant was clean however and the food appropriately priced but in at least in my dish, the flavor was reflected...
Read moreWent to this place for dinner and ordered a fajita plate. You seat yourself, but there was no sign to tell you to do so and that made for a awkward entrance. Service was fast, the place was actually pretty slow with only a handful of customers. The fajita plate was taco seasoning on the steak, sliced in to thin strips with some Bellpepper and onion. I could’ve made this with the recipe from the side of a taco seasoning container. Ambience and decoration was plain like a typical taco shop. The mariachi music playing in the background caught my attention when the music volume kept lowering and raising. I came to realize this was someone’s cell phone receiving texts and playing Pandora. What was worse was the Pandora commercials that would play because this was a free pandora account. I noticed other posts on how slow it was paying the bill. You get up from your table when finished with your meal, and go to the register at the back of the restaurant, not the front. I stood there waiting quite a while while a lady was standing there and didn’t acknowledge me. Eventually someone came over to take payment. You then have to walk through the restaurant to get to the front door. I would recommend trying a different...
Read moreIn this time of pandemic you would think the restaurant would be extra clean. As you walk up the windows were filthy you can't help but notice tape residue from old posters along with dead insects and finger prints. The front entrance was just as dirty. Dirt build up leaves and feathers. Our waitress was nice but didnt bring out our drinks till after the meal. She explained that there was something going on with the coke machine and offered something different. After waiting another 6 min she comes out with the original drink order. I asked for pico de gallo and got diced onions & tomatoes & cilantro. No Jalapeno at all Food was bland and took a long time to get. Hosts was seating people way to close not 6ft apart. The busboy was really working fast but faild to sanitize high touch points. Salt & pepper shakers the back of the chairs the sides of the table's. Don't think they are taking the steps to keeping things clean or safe....
