Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Plainville

We came in, and were seated right away, our server came and took our drink order, delivered them, took our whole order.. someone else delivered the appetizer, which was fine, and then shortly after the same server (not ours) delivered our meals and this is when the disappointments begin. My order was correct (yay) but the green beans were just so sad looking! They were completely limp and unappealing, the mashed potatoes were fine (let's be honest it's kind of hard to mess those up, especially since they leave the skin on AND they're lumpy) but the steak looked like it was run over. I wasn't impressed, but I was more hungry than I was willing to send it back, so I sawed into it. It was well done (not what I asked for) and the taste was just wrong. I can't explain it, other than to say I took a second bite to make sure my taste buds were working and they were. My other half ordered the same meal, different sides and a shrimp add on, and those weren't right either. Although based on my sad soggy green beans, he was probably better off without the broccoli. While we, (well, mostly he was eating), our server came by, asked if everything was good, but had the impeccable timing to catch us both with food in our mouths and never waited for any kind of response. About 15 mins after the first check-in, she did another walk by / ask with no wait for an answer. And then it was a waiting game for us..There were no servers anywhere to be found. we finally got the attention of a different server, and we asked for either our check or our server. About 10 mins later, she came by with the check, did the usual "when you're ready" line and then left. Most any other server would have realized that one meal was almost entirely untouched, and would have asked, but I know people aren't mind readers, so we just decided to pay and leave. I just didn't have the energy to go looking for her or someone else to complain to about the food. We checked out the bill, and it was wrong. My other half ordered shrimp for $1 (add on to the meal) that he never got but it was definitely on the bill. Just an entire evening of disappointments and we won't be back, as I'd rather spend my money somewhere else that at least puts in some effort. Still tipped her 20% because I've been a server, and she could have just been having...

Thursday, when we put our name in, the hostess was annoyed that there was 7 of us. Rude with lots of eyerolls. Even though there were many tables open including a couple to fit us and others, we had to wait as she said she didn't want to seat us and overwhelm the servers. Ok...

The menu was disappointing. I'm not a fan of fries with a steak. I have allergies. Can't eat the rice. Couldn't get mashed potatoes without garlic. No baked potatoes. Most places that have ribs offer add-ons of a half rack with a dinner. I could have gotten a sirloin with ribs, but I wanted the ribeye. Although, after getting it, I shudder at the thought of the serloin! Oh, and all you can eat ribs, etc being advertised, but they weren't offering it... That was why 4 in our party picked Applebee's.

Our server was high. Multiple mistakes with the food. We had to watch confusing her. Normally we don't like to run a waitress ragged. We check around the table so they can make one trip, but we had to put requests one at a time as she couldn't handle multiple requests. We asked for another beer and a water. 20 minutes later she brought the beer. We again asked for the water. Never got it. My daughter did say it appeared the bartender wasn't very attentive to the servers to get alcohol and Red Bulls. Steaks were supposed to be ribeyes, but tasted like extra cheep stew meat. The margaritas looked frozen in the picture. We double checked. Waitress affirmed the watermelon would arrive frozen. Whan they arrived they weren't frozen. We said something. She shrugged and walked off. My husband had one that actually was frozen and was supposed to have shark gummies. There weren't any. We normally tip 20-30%. I tipped 15% and still felt it was too much. I called today (Friday). The manager said she couldn't have been high as that's not her. Well, her eyes were glazed, she wasn't steady on her feet, she was extra ditsy, and she smelled like pot, so.... He made it clear he didn't believe me. No apology. It was clear I was annoying him. I see where his employees get it. He said he would talk to her and the mod from last night, and was there anything else.

We were celebrating Easter when we could accommodate all of our schedules. $300+, but at least the...

my wife and i have been comming to your place for sometime and over time i have noticed that when i had ordered the bone in chicken and it was really dry and either the boneless chicken chkcken was dry and over cooked big time. the service was good as always. the the riblits were very dry and hard as a rock and very hard to chew. the french onion soup was excellent and a few times it was brought to me and it was cold. from what i can see a lot of the food that is being served is overcooked and i have sat there and listened to people complain about the way that there food is not done the way that they want it done. i wanted a 7 and 7 but i had to order a jack and coke. it seems like someone needs to learn how to order booze. when i had seagram's vo and it tasted like watered down booze and i had to send it back because i have drank seagrams many years ago and i had never tasted a drink that tasted that nasty in my life. when i was there thrusday night i had two jack and coke the first one was ok, but the second one tasted real strange, like there was something in it, i know that i had a full meal, but when i got home that night, i had spoken to my wife and told her that i was having troubble trying to remember what happened that night when we were there having dinner, and i know for a fact that two drinks do not affect me like that at all to the point were i have a problem remembering things at all. i have a feeling that with my second drink something was added that i was not aware of. also that night that we were there my wife and i were told that they ran out of clean glasses and they had to reuse my glass. and it was a slow night that night we were there. how does a place run out of drinking glasses on a slow night. i should have gotten another clean glass. i think that i am going to stop comming this place for a while. and my wife feels the same way as well. my wife feels that the way the food is cooked needs a big improvement in the way that it...
