I have Crohn’s Disease. I came to use their bathroom as I was very ill. The woman was hesitant to let me use it only if I purchased something.. There is no sign stating the bathroom isn't public. I used the bathroom and was going to get my wallet from the car when the woman yelled after me, because I hadn't purchased anything. Very rude. So I assured her I was getting my wallet. I returned with my Emergency Medical Card and left it on the counter so she could read it. I explained to her what it was and she glances at it with a "who cares" attitude. I also point to my clearly visible ADA placard in my car windshield. This time she seems to get it. I buy a dozen donuts. Because I feel pressured. They were overpriced as stated before by another reviewer. I couldn't even give them all away at work... I never ate one myself as I was ill. And I don't eat donuts. The kolache I experienced was doughy. Not an ADA friendly shop and pricey. There is however a Rainbow Donuts on K Ave that are over the top friendly and make superb Fresh donuts and eggrolls every weekend....
Read more14th street donut shop is my favorite donut shop of all time. First of all, the donuts are adorable and beautiful and you can even order specialty designs for holidays and birthdays. When it comes to flavor, it’s a 100/10. Everything on the menu is delicious and super reasonably priced. The savory pastries are delicious and there’s such a variety of options. They even have a beef kolache option as opposed to pork which is cool. I had the spinach pastry and it was so yummy! The donuts are so good as well. They’re not the overly-sweet or over the top or greasy. These are some of the only donuts that don’t give me an upset stomach after eating them. I highly recommend the Korean iced coffee as well. It tastes just like the iced coffee I used to pick up on my commute to work when I lived in Seoul. The best part of it all is the owners. They are so friendly and kind and the customer service and level of cheer in the store is unmatched. This is the only donut shop I’ll be going to...
Read moreI love this place so much and have eaten here multiple times. Thats why it hurts to write a review at 3 stars instead of 5 stars. The last two times i have eaten here, although the food is delicious/fresh and the staff is so kind and welcoming I keep finding hair in the boxes. The first time it was only a couple hairs and it was taken care of immediately. No hair in the replacement box of kolaches. That was a couple months ago. This time it is a total of 8 hairs at the bottom of one of the 2 boxes as well as on the food itself.
If the owners were not so kind to me everytime i came in, the rating would definitely be lower. The service completely outweighs the hair issue. But lets be honest. When you spend $40 on kolaches for the family, you don't want to pick hair off of the food. I might give it one more shot next time the family gets a craving for kolaches. But some kind of standard needs to be set so that this does not become a reoccurring issue the way that it...
